Further, the relation between the weight, the width and the thickness, etc., of the steel sheet before forming and, the total length of the resistance welded tube after formed are expressed as the relational expression I, and the total length of the steel sheet before forming is derived. In such a way, length to be formed and the number of tubes to be formed of the steel tube is preliminarily calculated and decided, and a futile odd piece is not generated, and the yield can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture an electro-resistance-welded tube without lowering production efficiency and requiring a large equipment cost by colliding the front end of a succeeding electro-resistance-welded tube with the rear end of the preceeding molded and welded electro-resistance-welded tube and joining them as they bite each other. CONSTITUTION:When, a crop 27a at the rear end of the preceeding electro-resistance- welded tube 21a arrives at a pair of caliber rolls 3, it is stopped, the pair of caliber rolls 3 is rolled down to a prescribed roll gap. the preceeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21a is advanced as the crop 27a at the rear end is rolled down and the major diameter is made smaller than the minor diameter. When compression is completed, the pair of rolls 3 opens vertically, the preceeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21a stops, before long the succeeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21b advances and collides with the preceeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21a. Then, since the major diameter of the crop 27a at the rear end of the preceeding electro-resistance-welded tube is worked to be smaller than the minor diameter of the crop 27b at the front end of the succeeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21b, the crops 27b, 27a bite each other to connect the preceeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21a with the succeeding electro-resistance-welded tube 21b.

    • PURPOSE:To perform tube end machining accurately by making a copying roller integrated with a tool copy the peripheral surface of a pipe. CONSTITUTION:At the place where the diameter of a steel pipe 21 changes from a small diameter to a large diameter, the force of pushing up a copying roller 3 and a cutting tool 4 works, and a retaining member 5 moves toward a spring 6 while compressing the spring 6. Moreover, at the place where the diameter of the steel pipe 21 changes from a large diameter to a small diameter, a gap is generated between the copying roller 3 and the cutting tool 4 and the steel pipe 21, so the retaining member 5 moves toward the center of a tool mounting plate 2. That is, the copying roller 3 and the cutting tool 4 are brought into contact with the steel pipe 21 at all times while changing the diametrical direction position, according to the change of the outside diameter of the steel pipe 21. Since the copying is outside surface copying, nearly circular copying can be done, and the pipe end machining can be performed accurately.
