    • PURPOSE:To obtain direction information such as a forward direction of the moving body by detecting the direction of an antenna in the forward direction of the moving body. CONSTITUTION:When a prescribed static satellite is located in the horizontal surface in the A direction of an arrow, an antenna 1 is turned at the origin position, and the receiving direction is changed, ad then, a detecting output G is changed as well as the directional beam of the antenna 1 and becomes maximum when the direction of the antenna 1 is coincident with a satellite direction. A Gth shows the lowest level of the detecting output G that communi cation information will not be buried in the noise and can be extracted, and when the detecting output G exceeds Gth, the receiving can be executed. At a motor control circuit 3, a step motor 4 is controlled by using the detecting output G from the communication information processing circuit 2, the antenna 1 is turned in the horizontal direction and the receiving direction is determined. Thus, the control is executed so that he receiving output may become close to maximum, and therefore, the highly sensitive receiving can be always execut ed and the correct direction information without a conventional cumulative error can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To receive invariably a satellite radio wave on the moving body high sensitivity and to obtain various pieces of information by arranging a plane type antenna group which has small air resistance and also has directivity so that reception directions in a horizontal plane are different from one another, and utilizing the satellite radio wave received by it.
      CONSTITUTION: Three plane type microstrip antennas 1a, 1b, and 1c are fixed on the roof of an automobile. They are directed to a stationary satellite to cover every direction in a horizontal plane. Detectors 4a, 4b, and 4c convert reception outputs of respective antennas into DC voltages proportional to their levels and output the voltages to a control circuit 5. The control circuit 5 select the largest detector output to specify the corresponding antenna, and outputs a control signal for switching a relay switch 3 to the corresponding antenna. Therefore, even when the automobile changes its direction, reception with invariably high sensitivity is possible. The level of the reception output of each antenna varies according to the running direction of the automobile. For the purpose, the control circuit 5 decides on a combination of respective detection outputs to detect the direction of the satellite based on the running direction of the automobile, thereby obtaining azimuth information on the automobile.

CONSTITUTION:Eight metallic rods 28-28 are erected vertically at nearly equal intervals on a metallic disk 24 along circumference of the metallic disk 24 corresponding to the outer periphery of a metallic disk 27. At the same time, upper ends of them support outer periphery of the metallic disk 27 to short- circuit the outer periphery to the metallic disk 24. In this constitution, the diameters D 1-S 4 of metallic disks 22, 24, 26, 27, total length H of the metallic rod 23, height H1 of the metallic disk 24 to metallic disk 22, height H2 of the metallic disk 27 to metallic disk 26 and height H3 of the metallic disk 24 to metallic disk 26 are determined in relation to the wavelength of sending signals. Thus, sending and receiving function similar to a rod type whip antenna can be obtained.
