摘要： PURPOSE:To simplify the structure, to reduce the installation space and to facilitate handling by providing first and second supporting frames with a pair of dust-proof caps covering the side faces of first and second bearings fitted, respectively, in through-holes of the first and second supporting frames. CONSTITUTION:Dustproof caps 41, 41 are press fitted or bonded, through adhesive, in through-holes 33, 33 of first and second supporting frames 31, 32 on the outside of first and second bearings 35, 36. The pair of dustproof caps 41 are made of metal or plastic and constitutes a dustproof sealing structure according to the invention. Each cap 41 covers the side face of the first or second bearing 35, 36 and chokes the through-hole 33 thus interrupting air flow between a spindle motor 30 and a magnetic disc.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the scattering of magnetic fluid by magnetizing the sections, where the shaft of a motor is opposed to a pair of pole pieces on both sides, into the polarities opposite to the polarities of the tree ends of a pair of hole pieces. CONSTITUTION:A spindle motor is equipped with a shaft 5, which is fixed to a housing 14, and a hub 11, which can rotate freely through bearing members 8 and 9 to the shaft 5. For the hub 11, a cylindrical hub body 13 and a flange 12 are made integrally and a yoke member 14 and a rotor magnet 32 are installed at the inside periphery. A magnetic fluid seal means 40 and 42 are provided outside the bearing members 8 and 9. The seal members 40 and 42 are equipped with magnetic fluid holding means consisting of circular permanent magnets 50 and a pair of pole pieces 52 and 54 on both sides. The sections where the shaft 5 is opposed to the pole pieces 52 and 54 are magnetized into opposite polarities to the polarities of the free ends of the pole pieces 52 and 54. Hereby, the magnetic force from the pole piece concentrates on the magnetized part of the shaft, and the scattering of the magnetic fluid 3 can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:At the through-hole part 1b of an internally threaded hole 1c made through a hub 1, the inner end part 1e of the hub l is hermetically sealed with an ultraviolet ray curing adhesive 14, for example. The hub 1 having the through-hole part 1b hermetically sealed with the adhesive 14 is then secured with a rotor magnet 8, a rotor yoke 15 and an index magnet 16. Outer circumferential faces 11b, 12b of the outer rings of bearings 11, 12 are then secured to the inner circumferential face 1d of the bearing at the hub 1 thus assembling a spindle unit around the hub 1. Consequently, the inside and the outside of the hub are shielded reliably, cleanliness is maintained in the disc chamber, and the adhesive does not fall off easily, resulting in a highly reliable spindle motor.
