    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual path changeover method in which a phase difference of a transmission cell stream between an active virtual path and a standby virtual path is decreased, without increasing a load on a transmission medium and to provide a medium in which a virtual path changeover control program is recorded. SOLUTION: A VP cell synchronization device 40 is placed just before an end node 10 that uses active and preliminary VPs different from each other to receive a cell stream as data, and a distance difference detection section 44 of the VP cell synchronization device 40 detects a distance difference of both the active and the preliminary VPs based on a distance detection cell inserted in the transmission cell stream of the active and standby VPs, and an output timing is controlled to set a buffer quantity of a distance difference absorbing buffer 45, based on the distance difference to eliminate a phase difference of the both. Consequently synchronization is not always required, and the phase difference is absorbed while relieving the load of the transmission medium.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the convenience and sureness of communication by sending a selection signal comprising a dial pulse or a pushbutton dial signal to an exchange via a line with data from an external intelligent terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:When the data of a selection signal from an intelligent terminal equipment 4 is received by a selection signal transmission circuit 6, at first a DC loop circuit 5 is in loop state and an exchange is started via a line and when the exchange acquires a call start register, a dial tone is sent. Then a selection signal transmission circuit 6 starts a demultiplex circuit 7 to disconnect a telephone set 1 so that no noise is sent to the telephone set 1 and the telephone set 1 has not useless load to send the selection signal. Moreover, when the selection signal is a DP, the DC loop circuit 5 after the DC loop forming in its own circuit is opened and the DP signal is sent to lines L1, L2 from the selection signal transmission circuit 6. After the end of transmission of the selection signal, the demultiplex circuit 7 is active and connects to the telephone set 1 to open the DC loop circuit 5. Thus, the convenience of communication is improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital communication system capable of a suppressing the occurrence of a useless transmission capacity without the need of considering matching with other nodes for the transmission ratio of STM/ATM. SOLUTION: On a transmission side node, an STM frame supplied in an asynchronous communication mode is divided in a cell making part 115a and plural STM data cells are obtained. The STM data cells and ATM cells supplied in an asynchronous communication mode are multiplexed in a multiplexing part 115d and gathered into a single virtual container. After adding and overhead to the virtual container, it is transmitted to a transmission line 13 in the asynchronous communication mode. On a reception side node, after removing the overhead first, in a restoration and distribution part, the STM data cells and the ATM cells are restored, respectively distributed and outputted. Among them, the STM data cells are synthesized by a frame making part and STM frame is restored.
