    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the transmission quality of the silence compression voice coding and decoding device provided between an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) line and an exchange. SOLUTION: A voice signal is given to a voice coder 102 of a voice-coding section from a voice input terminal 10. The voice-coding section 101 coverts a received voice code into coding data and provides an output of the data to a cell assembler 103. The voice detector 102 monitors at all times an input voice and provides an output of the monitored result (information of voice/ silence) to the cell assembler 103. The cell assembler 103 receives monitor information (information of voice/silence) also from a voice detector 205 of a voice- decoding section 200 and the voice detector 102, assemblies coded data from the voice coder 101 into cells, based on both the monitor information sets and transmits the cells to the ATM channel via an output terminal 11. The cell assembler 103 discriminates that a talker is providing an output of a voice signal, and that an opposite party is listening to the signal for a period when the voice detector 205 detects silence, even if it is a period in which the voice detector 102 detects silence and transmits cells of the coded data for the period as well.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of operation and to improve the quality of synthesized voice by selecting the number of pulses in each subframe based on a power ratio in each frequency component and extracting sound source pulses corresponding to the selected number of pulses. CONSTITUTION:The output results of band pass filters (BPFs) 1-N having respectively different passing bands are sent to a power calculating part 7 to calculate power in each frequency component. A pulse number assigning table 9 selects the number of pulses to be assigned to a subframe or the like based on the power rate of each frequency component. A pitch forecasting sound source pulse searching part 4 searches the pulse of a driving sound source successively based on the output of an LPC parameter extracting part 2, the output of a pitch extracting part 3 and the number of pulses in each subframe and forms the position of the sound source pulse and its amplitude. Consequently, the quantity of arithmetic operation can be reduced and the quality of synthesized voice can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the S/N and to obtain voice with high quality by providing a long time spectral characteristic in matching with the pitch structure of an input voice to the substantial weighting filter with auditory sense. CONSTITUTION:The filter consists of the cascade connection of a short time weighting filter W1 using a linear prediction coefficient alphai representing short time spectral information of an input voice extracted from the input voice and the result of multiplying a constant gamma1, with the linear prediction coefficient and a long time weighting filter W2 using a pitch prediction coefficient (b) representing long time spectral information extracted from the input voice and the result of multiplying a constant gamma2 with the pitch prediction coefficient. Then the short time spectral information and the long time spectral information are used to give weighting to the input voice and the result is outputted as a coded data. Thus, the S/N in terms of auditory sense is improved more, and the voice with high quality is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a controller by providing a switch switching the output of an oscillator to an echo controller and a detector detecting an oscillation signal from the oscillator so as to attain the cascade connection of echo block circuits. CONSTITUTION:The echo block circuit 1 is connected to the transmission line of the echo controller and switches 4, 5 switching the oscillation signal of the oscillator 2 are provided between the circuit 1 and the transmission line. Further, input terminals T2, T3 to which the oscillation signal from the transmission line is inputted and an output terminal T4 are provided to a detector 3 and a disable terminal T1 of the circuit 1 is connected to the output terminal T4. The detector 3 detects the oscillation signal from the pre-stage and the result of detection is fed to the disable terminal T1 of the circuit 1. The echo blocking devices 8, 9, 10 with the constitution above are connected in cascade between hybrid circuits 6, 7 by transmission lines 11, 12 to simplify the echo controller.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly transmit an additional number also in a facsimile main service by releasing the operation of an echo suppressor at the time of detecting a transmission destination signal being the additional number. SOLUTION: A voice coding part 1 consists of an echo suppressor 10 preventing the leakage of a signal by disconnecting the signal which is outputted from a decoding part 2 and creeps to an input terminal as an echo by way of an output terminal 200 and the 4-wire and 2-wire conversion circuit of an exchange, and a PB detector 11, etc., detecting a push button dial signal inputted from the exchange by way of the input terminal 100. The output signal being the PB detecting result of the PB detector 11 at the voice coding part 1 controls the switch 25 and the delay circuit 24 in the voice decoding part 2 and when a PB signal is detected, resets a delay circuit 24 at the same time of switching the switch 25 to the side of the voice decoder and simultaneously stops the operation of the echo suppresor. Thereby the signal inputted from the input terminal 100 is inputted to a voice coder 12 by way of a delay circuit 15 as it is.
