    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make measurable the absolute composition distribution of a sample with higher precision and rapidly.
      SOLUTION: A generated higher harmonic wave of a wavelength λ3 enters a photodetector 12 and is detected, after its fundamental wave components of wavelengths λ1, λ2 are cut by filters which are not shown in the drawing. An output read by an optical power detector 17 is transmitted to a personal computer 18 via a GP-IB interface. Since the wavelength of a variable wavelength light source and the output at that wavelength are fetched by the personal computer 18 in synchronization, a wavelength at which the output becomes maximum when the wavelength λ2 is scanned can be read.
