    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic card reader-writer that can read and write independently of the inserting direction of a medium and the top and bottom of a surface and to prevent errors even when deformations such as ends and wrinkles are present.
SOLUTION: An adaptive pressurization type 4-direction magnetic card reader-writer is composed of a carrying motor driving a carrying mechanism constituting a carrying surface for carrying the medium; an actuator for which a first magnetic head whose magnetic pole surface is turned upwards and a second magnetic head whose magnetic pole surface is turned downwards are adjacently arranged across the carrying surface, a head press roller rotatable while bringing the medium into press contact is provided on each magnetic head, respective rotary shafts of the head press rollers are attached to pendulous arms and the respective arms are rotated in both directions of rotating them in a direction opposite to the press contact direction of the head press rollers to perform opening and rotating them in the press contact direction to perform pressurization further; and a controller receiving signals from a sensor sensing a traveling position of the medium and the magnetic heads and controlling the activation stoppage and driving direction of the carrying motor and opening and pressurization of the actuator.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deter a plurality of cards from being inserted when a card is inserted, to give a direction for a folded card or cards which are put one over the other can be discharged when they are discharged, and to stop raindrops entering from a card insertion slot device when it is installed outdoors. SOLUTION: A card is passed onto a base from a shutter. A thickness detecting mechanism forms a gap which allows one card to pass between it and the base while the quantity by which it moves by being pushed by the card when the card is inserted is regulated, thereby stopping a plurality of cards from passing. When cards are discharged, the quantity by which the mechanism moves by being pushed by the cards is increased and a gap which exceeds one card is formed between it and the base to allow a specific number of cards to be discharged. A 1st tilt part guides raindrops to outside an insertion slot. A roll at an upper end part allows the card to pass by upward movement and stops raindrops from entering the slot between the outer side and shutter when no card is present. Water leaking from the gap between the roll and upper end part is guided from a 2nd tilt part to an end part of the base and drained.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten preparation time by containing instruments and the like affected by temperature in a container thermally insulating from the surroundings and correcting them. CONSTITUTION:An instrument 1 is contained in a container 4 to thermally insulate from the surroundings 8. Therefore, the heat accompanied only by the operation of the instrument 1 is considered. The instrument 1 before the operation should be at temperature theta0 the same as the surroundings 8, and the instrument after operation start generates heat to raise the temperature. The generated heat is defined as P, the heat capacity of the instrument 1 and its support 2, C and the time, t, then the temperature theta0 rises from the initial temperature theta0 following the equation theta=theta0+(P/C).t. Though the deviation from the equation will increase as the state approaches to the saturation, a certain range can be approximated by the equation. Furthermore, no irregular heat conduction exists on the surface of the instrument, and so a constant relation stands between the measured result of the instrument 1 and the temperature. Thus, exact correction of the measured result with a correction part 6 based on the detected temperature with a temperature detector 5 is possible immediately after the operation starts.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate burying works and to easily install this device by detecting a moving object from a moving image that is photographed with a camera and deciding it as a vehicle when respective values of the size and speed of the object and motion vector are in the range which is preliminarily set. SOLUTION: A television camera 101 which is installed at a parking lot entrance outputs photographed images. A box detecting part 103 detects a box of each image of a frame buffer 102. An area calculating part 104 gets an area from the size of a box that is detected by the part 103. A reference point extracting part 105 extracts one appropriate point of an outline that forms a box that is detected by the part 103 as a reference point. A vector calculating part 106 calculates a motion vector which shows the moving quantity and direction of the same reference point on adjacent frames that are detected. A speed calculating part 107 calculates the speed of a box in an image from the motion vector. When the size and speed of these objects and the motion vector are in the range that is preliminarily defined, it is discriminated as a vehicle.
