    • PURPOSE: To obtain good joining of a tube and tube plate and improve work efficiency by inserting an elastic body into the tube and pressing the elastic body in axial direction from both ends.
CONSTITUTION: An elastic body 5 is inserted into a tube 3 corresponding to the joining part with a tube plate 2 and the end of the tube 3 is closed with a fixed board 6. When force is applied in the direction of the arrow by a pressure rod 4, the elastic body 5 is compressed and swelled out in radial direction, and expands the tube 3 to fit it to the hole of the tube plate 2. This method allows plural operations at a time and improves work efficiency.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a method of retaining the fin pitch of a corrugated fin and increasing the rigidity of the fin without changing the form or the thickness of the fin, by retaining the fin pitch by bonding tapes to the corrugated fin fitted to a heat exchanger tube at a prescribed pitch at the portions thereof where the fin is not kept in contact with the heat exchanger tube. CONSTITUTION:In a tape bonding mechanism 15, tapes 14 are wound around two support shafts respectively and they are drawn out from the shafts by means of tension rolls 16 and pressure rolls 17 which force and bond the tapes 14 onto a needle-like corrugated fin 6. While feeding tha tapes 14, an adhesive agent is sprayed from adhesive- agent spray nozzles 18 to the surface of the tapes 14 where the tapes 14 are bonded to the fin 6. Here, the tape feeding and bonding speed is selected to meet with the fin shaping speed, and the tapes 14 are forced and bonded to bent portions 7 by the pressure rolls 17. Thus, since the tapes 14 are bonded to the bent portions 7 of the needle- like corrugated fin 6 where it is not kept in contact with a heat exchanger tube, it is enabled to retain the fin pitch and to increase the strength of the fin. On the other hand, the adhesive agent is removed by a dissolving liquid after inserting the fin 6 applied with the tapes 14 between heat exchanger tubes 2 and before fixing it to the tubes 2, and then the fin 6 is soldered to the heat exchanger tubes 2.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the waste of materials and to shorten a stop time in formation by forming projections in specific shapes at the ending terminal part of one blank material for a needlelike fin and at the starting terminal part of the other blank material, and welding those projection parts one over another. CONSTITUTION:The ending terminal part 2s of the needlelike fin blank material 2 is superposed upon the starting terminal part 12a of another blank material 12 and they are cut with a cutter, etc., as shown lines A-A and B-B; and the projection parts 11 and 11a which are nearly as wide as the remaining uncut parts as wing parts for a heat conduction pipe are formed at the ending and starting terminal parts 2a and 12a. Only those projection parts 11 and 11a are superposed upon the blank materials 2 ans 12 without any breadthwise shift between the blank materials 2 and 12 and the overlap parts are welded together. This jointing method secures enough strength against tensile force in winding to the heat cnduction pipe and manufactures the successive heat conduction pipe with the needlelike fin.

    • PURPOSE:To improve productivity of finned heat transmitting tubes by lapping the rear end of a preceding hoop material and the front end of a succeeding hoop material and welding, and rolling the lapped part to the thickness of the hoop, and cutting protruded part to the width of the hoop material. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing a finned heat transmitting tube, when the rear end 2a of a hoop material 2 comes into contact with a contact piece 24, a driving electric motor 28 is stopped by the action of a relay 26. A worker laps the rear end 2a of a preceding hoop material and the front end 2c of a succeeding hoop material. Driving is resumed and lapped part 11 of the hoop material 2 is welded by an ultrasonic welding machine I . Then, the lapped part 11 is rolled to the thickness of the hoop material 2 by an upper roll 15 and a lower roll 16 of a rolling mill II. Protruded part 21 formed by rolling is cut by a lower cutting edge 19 and an upper cutting edge 20 of a trimming shear III to make it the same width with the hoop material 2. A finned heat transmitting tube is formed using this hoop material by conventional method.
