    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to coat a base metal with a glass lining material by relieving the difference between the coefft. of thermal expansion of the metal and that of the lining material with thermally sprayed layers formed on the metal. CONSTITUTION:A metallic material, cermet or ceramic having a coefft. of thermal expansion between the coefft. of thermal expansion of base steel to be lined with glass and that of a glass lining material is thermally sprayed on the base steel to form several thermally sprayed layers. At this time, the coefft. of thermal expansion of the layers is gradually reduced from the lower layer toward the upper layer by varying the compsn. of the material to be thermally sprayed and the coefft. of thermal expansion of the outermost layer is made close to that of coating glass. The lining of the base steel with the glass lining material having a low coefft. of thermal expansion is enabled.

    • PURPOSE: To increase the thermal efficiency utilized in the fusion of metal and to increase remarkably the thermal-spraying performance and the reliability by making a power source for melting metal a high frequency pulse power source.
      CONSTITUTION: The terminals 7a, 7b of conductive elements 6a, 6b are joined to a high frequency pulse power source and the metal wires (a), (b) are continuously moved to the contact sides in accordance with the fusion of these tip parts and a high-speed air stream is caused in the inside of a gun case 1. Furthermore the base current IB, the peak current IP of every one cycle T, the mean current IA, the current of time TB of base current IB and the current of time TP of peak current IP are charged to the metal wires (a), (b) via a conductive element 6 by the high frequency pulse power source. The base current of the high frequency pulse power source, the peak current, the time ratio and the frequency are regulated in accordance with the thermal-spray conditions. By this method, the utilization efficiency of metal and the thermal- spray performance are remarkably increased.
