    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an alternating current (AC) generator for a vehicle in which: the amount of heat generated by a noise suppression capacitor is reduced and life of the noise suppression capacitor is increased; inrush current to the noise suppression capacitor when the AC generator for a vehicle and a battery are electrically connected is reduced, and occurrence of sparks generated in a battery terminal is suppressed; and oscillatory waveforms are suppressed. SOLUTION: An AC generator for a vehicle includes a noise suppression capacitor that is connected between a plus side and a minus side of a rectifier 14, and is connected in parallel with an electrical load. The noise suppression capacitor absorbs noise generated when rectification to a direct current is performed in the rectifier 14. The rectifier 14 connected in parallel with the noise suppression capacitor is also connected in parallel with the electrical load and with the battery. An equivalent resistance value of the noise suppression capacitor is 0.2Ω to 10.0Ω, and capacitance of the noise suppression capacitor is 0.5μF to 3.5μF. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
