    • PURPOSE:To prevent the increase of a damage due to an accident by detecting the presence or absence of an AC ripple component of a zone during power supplying, thereby identifying whether it is during the power supplying or not and controlling regenerative brake. CONSTITUTION:When an electric rolling stock is regeneratively braked, a regenerative current (i) flows through a current collector 6 to a trolley wire 3. An AC current transformer 7 for detecting the AC component of the current (i) is arranged at the suitable position of a trolley line circuit at the side of the rolling stock. A frequency component detector 8 identifies whether the component of the frequency generated by the power supply of a substation exists or not in the AC current detected by the transformer 7, and when such frequency component does not exist, an output corresponding to it is immediately fed to a controller 11, which stops the regenerative brake operation. In this manner, the regenerative brake of the rolling stock can be automatically stopped in a no power supply zone.
