    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional converter which can transmit power reduced in switching loss.
      SOLUTION: In the transmission of the power in a forward direction, the bidirectional converter outputs electric charges already accumulated in a second electric charge holding capacitor C5 to an input side capacitor C2 when turning off a second semiconductor switch Tr2 constituting a boosting converter. When the second semiconductor switch Tr2 is turned off, the bidirectional converter accumulates new electric charges transferred from a coil L1 in a first electric charge holding capacitor C4. Power transmission in a reverse direction can be performed when there are provided two such boosting converters.
