    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of cavity resonators, and to shorten the tube axial length of the waveguide by providing two coupled apertures to two modes crossing at right angles in a cylindrical resonator and a metal board to the flank with no coupled aperture provided, in parallel to the electric field of one mode. CONSTITUTION:In cylindrical waveguide 1, metal plates 3 are provided with standing surfaces parallel, dielectric plate 4 is mounted perpendicularly to the opposite surface of plate 3, and thin and long coupled aperture 5 is provided to the tube wall in the circumferential direction. Then, cylindrical resonator 9 is fitted to plate 4 at the position forming an angle of 90 deg. around the tube axis, coupled apertures 5 and 8 are coupled with two modes crossing at right angles in the cylindrical resonator against two polarized waves crossing at right angles in the waveguide, and metal plate 10 is provided at the flank side, where coupled apertures 5 and 8 are not provided, in parallel to the electric field of one mode. It is therefore possible to reduce cavity resonators in number and to shorten the tube axial length of the waveguide while maintaining flat phase characteristics over the broad range.

    • PURPOSE:To establish the waveguide phase unit having broad band phase performance with short guide length, by providing the the rectangular prism cavity oscillator on the waveguide, two coupling holes coupled with two polarized waves orthogonal, and metal plate in parallel with one electric field in the resonator. CONSTITUTION:On the tube wall of the waveguide 1, coupling holes 5,8 rectangular prism cavity resonator 5, and metal plate 10 excited with the resonator 9 via the coupling holes 9 are placed. The coupling hole 5 and 8, the same as the resonator 9, are located at the position taking an angle of 180 deg. around the waveguide axis 1 and woth a distance of 1/4 of the in-tube wave length at the upper limit frequency f2 and the lower limit frequency f1 of the phase unit toward tube axis. The length of the resonator 9 is the length at which vertical electric field mode vertical to the metal plate 10 is resonated in the frequency f3, and the metal plate 10 is selected to the length that the electric field mode in paralled with this resonates at higher frequency f4 than f3. To the polarized wave a, resonant is made freqency f3 and to the polarized wave b, it is at frequency f4. The equivalent circuit and frequency response to the polarized waves a and b are as shown in a,b,b,d and flat phase performance can be obtained over broad band.

    • PURPOSE:To correct the variation of a center frequency due to a processing error by forming a cylindrical or square hole of the prescribed depth at an end of a radio wave absorbing member and extruding a metallic screw at the bottom of said hole to form an impedance matching part. CONSTITUTION:A block-shaped radio wave absorbing member covers a part or whole of the area inside the cross section of a waveguide. While a cylindrical hole 6 having the depth set at about 1/2 wavelength and a radius (a) is formed at an end of a uniform part 3 of a terminator of the radio wave absorbing member. A screw 5 satisfying a>>d (d: screw diameter) is set at the bottom of the hole 6 so that it is protruded toward the tube axis by about 1/4 wavelength. The screw 5 and the hole 6 form a matching part 4 for terminator. Thus it is possible to correct easily the variation of a center frequency due to a processing error by controlling the length of the projected axis of the screw 5.

    • PURPOSE:To form an impedance converter which is small in size and less in reflecting waves, by folding a coaxial line in the impedance converter. CONSTITUTION:Coaxial lines A(1), B(2) are coaxial lines with different shape and impedance characteristics. External wall of cylindrical grooves provided at a part of an inner conductor A(3) and that of an external conductor B(6) form a folding coaxial line 11. Thus, waves of radial electric field components incident from the line A(1) propagate as the waves toward the same direction to the line B(2) via the line 11. Said folding coaxal line 11 is taken as L4 in length, about 1/4 wavelength, the characteristic impedance is suitably set, allowing to form the impedance converter less in the reflection wave with small size. Two or more foldings enable small size.

    • PURPOSE:To set optionally lead-out directions of four plate lines as input and output terminals and to increase the package density of microwave parts by constituting a multilayered dielectric substrate in three dimensions in the thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:A through hole provided to strip patterns 5 and 6 is plated to connect the pattern to a strip pattern 7 and the pattern 5 of a dielectric substrate 1a to the pattern 5 of a dielectric substrate 1d electrically through base metal 3 of each dielectric substrate. A converter constituted by using dielectric substrates as mentioned above allows the transmission mode of substrates 1b and 1c to be considered equivalently as a coaxial mode. In this case, the distance between adjacent through hole plating parts of the pattern 5 is made shorter than wavelength and the characteristic impedance of this coaxial line is easily adjusted by varying the external diameter of the through hole provided to the pattern 6 and the size of an electric equivalent short-circuit surface.
