      SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an image generation section for imaging an object to generate image data; an image file generation section for adding a header for storing at least one kind of information about an imaging environment to the image data generated by the image generation section to generate an image file; a timer for outputting information indicative of a present time; and an operation section for setting period information specifying a period of time. The image file generation section changes the kind of information stored in the header in accordance with whether an imaging time indicated by information outputted from the timer in imaging is included within the period specified by the period information.
