    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of an autofocus operation with a contrast system. SOLUTION: A lens controller 240 obtains an exposure synchronizing signal that is generated by a camera controller 140 from a camera body 100, causes a configuration formed of a first encoder 231, a second encoder 232 and a counter 243 to detect the position of a focus lens 230 according to the acquisition of the exposure synchronizing signal, and notifies the camera body 100 of the detected position of the focus lens 230. The camera controller 140 associates the position of the focus lens 230 or the mechanism member obtained from the lens controller 240 with an AF evaluation value based on the exposure synchronizing signal, and controls an autofocus operation of the camera system 1 based on the position and AF evaluation value that are associated with each other.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device provided with a multi-shot self-timer mode and a normal continuous shot mode, which has proper operability.
      SOLUTION: A controller 16 controls an imaging device 12 to continuously image a plurality of still images at a first time interval in a continuous shots mode; and if a release button 18g receives an instruction for starting imaging a still image in a multi-shot self-timer mode so as to control the imaging device 12 to continuously image a plurality of still images at a second time interval which is longer than the first time interval, with the lapse of a predetermined time, after reception of the instruction. Then, the controller 16 performs control in the multi-shot self-timer mode but will not perform control in the continuous shot mode, when the continuous image mode is set and the multi-image self-timer mode is set, as well.
