    • PURPOSE: To prevent the variance of tape tension due to the change of the take- up diameter of a tape by providing a ring-shaped piezoelectric element on the cushion felt set on a base disk, adhering a annular elastic matter to the piezoelectric element to form a piezoelectric reel motor and driving a reel drive disk via a clutch plate.
      CONSTITUTION: When AC voltages of different phases are applied to plural electrode parts set in the circumferential piezoelectric element 17, the lateral traveling waves are produced in the ring circumferential direction. Then a reel drive disk 3 is revolved round a rotary shaft 13 owing to the function of a transversal traveling wave since a clutch plate 19 is pressed to an elastic matter 18 by means of a spring 15. Therefore a tape cassette 6 is also revolved to take up a tape. The tape tension is kept at a fixed level with control of the input of a piezoelectric reel motor despite the change of the reel take-up diameter. Furthermore no brake mechanism is needed because the friction power generated between the plate 19 and the matter 18 serves as the brake power in a stop mode.
