    • PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable variable power device with a simple constitution by detecting the position of an optical means, which is previously set in response to a copying magnification, from the combinations of a absolute position signal available from a position sensor means and a relative position signal from a frequency generator. CONSTITUTION:The titled device has a lens 18, and mirrors 12, 14, 16, 56, 58 and 60. It is provided with the optical means that can move in a prescribed position in response to a copying magnification, the position sensor means that detects the reference positions of plural optical means, a DC motor having the frequency generator generating the number of pulses in proportion to rotation, and a drive means that transmits the power of the DC motor to the optical means. The titled device is constituted so that the position of the optical means, which is preset in response to a copying magnification, is detected from the combinations of the absolute position signal available from the position sensor means and the relative position signal from the frequency generator. Thanks to such a constitution, the position of the optical means in response to a copying magnification can be precisely detected with using the comparatively inexpensive DC motor.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent toner from scattering by coupling one terminal of a toner feeding means with a toner hopper and the other terminal with a toner container, and supplying toner by utilizing negative pressure. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 7 has an agitator screw 8 and a rotatable sleeve 9 internally and the toner hopper 12 is provided above the developing device 7. A toner feed source 15 such as a fan and a vacuum pump is brought under rotary control of a motor 16. When the toner feed source 15 rotates, negative pressure is produced in a pipe, so the toner in the toner container 6 is sucked and sent in the toner hopper 18 through pipes 18 and 17. The toner hopper 12 is provided with an air vent member 19, through which only air is discharged.

    • PURPOSE:To clean up the surface of a photoreceptor without detaching the photoreceptor from a copying machine frame by attaching a housing fitted with a cleaning member movably to a supporting body provided in such a direction that it comes close to and to space the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic charger rail 11 of an electrostatic charger for transfer is utilized as the supporting body of a photoreceptor cleaning tool 14 and the supporting body 13 is lowered as shown by an arrow A' to insert and mount the fitting part 21 of the photoreceptor cleaning tool 14 along the electrostatic charger rail 11. Then, when the supporting body 13 is lifted as shown by an arrow A, a cleaning cloth 17 and rubber plates 18 and 19 are pressed against the surface part to be cleaned of the photoreceptor 1 with proper press- contacting force. When the photoreceptor 1 is rotated in this state, large dirt such as a developer on the photoreceptor surface is removed by the rubber 18 firstly, dirt due to the filming of the developer and ionized bodies generated by the electrostatic charger is removed by the cleaning cloth 17, and cleaning liquid and adhesives are removed in succession by the rubber plate 19.
