    • PURPOSE:To allow the uniform curing of the entire photographic layer of a photographic material wound to the roll form of a semi-finished product in a short period of time by feeding back a surface temp. to a 1st heating treatment device and controlling the surface temp. of the photographic material in a transverse direction and a taking up direction. CONSTITUTION:The surface temp. of the photographic sensitive material is continuously measured in its transverse direction just before taking up after the 1st heating treatment of the photographic material obtd. by coating and drying. This surface temp. is fed back to the 1st heating treatment device and the surface temp. of the photographic material in the transverse direction and take-up direction is controlled. The photographic material is subjected to the 2nd heating treatment after taking up and is so taken up that the temp. in the roll is higher than the 2nd heating treatment temp. The set value of the surface temp. of a heating roll 7 is so determined by a controller 10 that the surface temp. distribution in the transverse direction of the photographic material attains a desired value. A cascade loop to control the current quantity to be passed to heating elements 11 is constituted so as to attain the above- mentioned set value of the surface temp., by which the surface temp. control in the transverse direction of the photographic material is executed.

    • PURPOSE:To improve coating properties at the time of starting coating by bringing a web close to a slide face, forming beads of coating liquid and simultaneously increasing gradually air pressure difference applied to beads from the state lower than the pressure difference at the time of coating stably up to the pressure in the stabilized state. CONSTITUTION:In the case coating liquids 11 and 12 fed from slide hopper type coating heads 3 and 4 are applied for coating to a web 2 wound on a coating roll 1 by forming beads 15, first a slide face 101 is brought close to the web 2 to form the beads. Then the air pressure difference applied to the beads 15 is increased gradually from the value lower than the pressure difference in which coating can be performed to the higher stabilized pressure difference. That is, the degree of pressure reduction in a pressure reduction chamber 13 is sensed by a pressure sensor 16 and the pressure is controlled and set by a pressure control device 18 in a manner of setting the pressure difference lower than the pressure difference in the stabilized state. After coating is started, the pressure difference is increased gradually up to the pressure difference in the stabilized time.

    • PURPOSE:To make possible to uniformly cure the whole of the photographic layer of a photographic material wound roll-likely a partially fabricated material, for a short period by heating a take-up core with a means other than air in a heating chamber. CONSTITUTION:The photographic material is wound around a heating core, and then carried in the heating chamber, followed by allowing a current to flow to a current circuit 6 by inserting a transmission plug. A wiring of conducting an electric signal coming from a temperature sensor 5 to an outside is provided in the current circuit 6 whereby the electric signal coming from the temperature sensor 5 is sent to a temperature controlling device mounted on the outside of the core, and the temperature control of a cylindrical heating part 3 is effected. And, the temperature of the inside of the heating part 3 is controlled in such way that the surface temp. of the core allowed it to contact with the photographic material wound, is almost the same temperature to the room temp. of the heating chamber. Thus, the time required for reaching the photographic layer of the whole of a roller to a prescribed temp. level is reduced, and the film strength of the photographic layer is improved to a practical prescribed level.
