    • PURPOSE:To easily set the parallel position of two work rolls, by utilizing that a moving speed in the axial direction of roll and a thrusting force are proportional to a crossing angle formed by two roll axes, in a roll-cross type rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:Mutually crossing rolls of a roll-cross type mill are rotated, and a thrusting force or a roll chock speed is detected between a roll chock at one side and a thrust clamp; the central position between two zero points of thrusting force obtained by crossing two rolls to one direction or to the reverse direction in the contacting surface, between the two rolls, by a roll-crossing device, or the central position between two zero points of roll-chock speed is made as the parallel position of heads of the roll-crossing device. In ordinary rolling, the heads of the roll-crossing device are set as the parallel position according to the position where respective rolls stabilize, or are set by shifting the head at one side from the parallel position by a gap portion between the head and the roll chock.
