Detectors 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d of a detection device 2 read a different code from the longest sequence bit train every time the code plate 1 is rotated by 24 deg. and detectors 2e, 2f, 2g, and 2h read a different code from the longest sequence bit train every time the code plate 1 is rotated by 24 deg. at a position which is shifted from the detectors 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d by 12 deg.. A detector 2i reads the repetition bit train every time the code plate 1 is rotated by 12 deg. and the output becomes '1' or '0'. When an output of the detector 2i is equal to 1, the output of the detectors 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d is selected by a signal change-over circuit 4. On the other hand, when the output of the detection part 2i is equal to 0, the output of the detectors 2e, 2f, 2g, and 2h is selected by the signal change-over circuit 4.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption without creating any changes in a state by detecting the generation of signal changes by the proper use of an intermittent charge and a continuous charge. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element 1b and a photodetecting element 1c are oppositely arranged, and the slits of a code board 1a which rotates as a machine travels are placed between them. Light emitted from the light emitting element 1b reaches the photodetecting element 1c. In a state of an intermittent charge, the light emitting element 1b emits light when receiving the supply of a source power per cycle DELTAt by the interval signals from an oscillator 1f through a switching device 1d, and sends the light toward the photodetecting element 1c. At this juncture, if the code board 1a does not rotate at all, there is no change in the output of the photodetecting element 1c per DELTAt. Now, if there is a shift from the absent to the present or the present to the absent of the slit of the code board 1a, the signal from the photodetecting element 1c to a signal retaining circuit 1g changes per DELTAt before and after such shift. The intermittent charge is switched over to a continuous charge by this change. In this way, it is possible to prevent the power to be consumed and avoid any wasteful consumption of a cell.

    • PURPOSE:To equalize a value, at which an on-electrode derectly combines with a receiving electrode, to a value, at which an offelectrode directly combines with a receiving electrode, and cancel the effect on an output signal by equalizing the area of the on-electrode to that of the off-electrode on a stator. CONSTITUTION:An off-electrode of a second bit signal is divided into prural off-electrodes 2 to 2, and 10 to 10, and its area is reduced to that of an on- electrode 1. Here, the width of the off-electrode 10 adjoining the on electrode 1 is secured to contain the angle corresponding to the width of rotor electrodes. Likewise in the case of the third bit signal, it is divided into plural off-electrodes 6 to 6, and 8 to 8, and its area is recuced to the same area as that of the on- electrode 5. Thereby, the signal transmitted, not via the rotor electrode, directly to a receiving electrode from the on-electrode of the stator, equalizes with the signal transmitted, not via the rotor electrode, directly to a receiving electrode from the off-electrode of the stator, so that both signals cancel each other and the angular error to be detected can be removed.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the absolute position of a moving part at the time of power reconduction highly accurately using an electromagnetic induction type scale by detecting the travel amount during power failure using an encoder which is backed up by a battery. CONSTITUTION:Normally, the travel amount of a slider 2a is detected by an encoder 1 and an electromagnetic induction type scale 2 and is stored, 8 and 9. Only the encoder 1 detects the travel amount during power failure, the encoder 1 sets an absolute value signal S4 which indicates an approximate travel amount during power failure to an absolute value/initial value setting part 10 by an absolute value operation start signal S3 at the time of power reconduction, and an A/D converter 4 feeds an offset signal X0 of the scale 2 to a counter 7. An absolute value operation part 11 calculates the number of grids m until power failure and an offset amount X1 by signals indicating approximate absolute positions X'0 and X'1 at the time of power failure and power reconduction, an offset amount X2 at the time of power reconduction, and a traveling amount X0 until power failure and furthermore obtains the number of grids n which indicates the travel amount at the time of power failure according to the position X'0, thus reconstructing the absolute position at the time of power reconduction by the numbers of grids m and n and the offset amount X1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost, high-reliability pedal device of simple constitution by forming a plane electrode of a high-conductivity material on the substrate in elastic structure of an upper electrode plate and forming a plane electrode in striped zigzag pattern of a low-conductivity material on the substrate of an upper electrode plate. SOLUTION: The upper electrode plate is formed by adhering an insulating film onto the substrate formed of a steel plate and forming an electrode pattern of a metal thin film on the insulating film. The lower electrode plate 1b is formed by adhering an insulating film 3b onto the substrate 2b of a steel plate and forming an electrode pattern of a metal thin film 4b on the insulating film 3b. A lower contact part 5b is formed in striped zigzag pattern having specific thin line width on the left side of the substrate 1b corresponding to the position of an upper contact part of the upper electrode, and the zigzag pattern is formed repeatedly along the length of the substrate 1a and extends along the length.
