摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in converting electric energy to sound wave energy in the pickling device using an ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 13 is passed through aq. hydrochloric acid 11 and irradiated with an ultrasonic wave to remove the scales in this pickling device. In this case, the pickling device 12 filled with the aq. hydrochloric acid 11 is bent twice in the shape of a U, plural bisymmetrical ultrasonic vibrators 17 consisting of a piezoelectric body having an elastic body on both ends are provided between the inner opposed surfaces in the traveling direction of the strip 13, the aq. hydrochloric acid is irradiated with an ultrasonic wave from the diaphragm 16 furnished on the end face of the elastic body to remove scales, and hence the sound wave energy from ultrasonic vibration is effectively utilized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To avoid the direct contact of a steel sheet to be treated with weirs provided on the lower surface at the inlet side of a pickling vessel and to prevent the generation of scratching flaw on the steel sheet caused by the weirs in the improvement of the box type structural pickling vessel for removing oxidized layer on the surface of the hot rolled steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:The hot rolled steel sheet S being the material to be treated and sticking the oxidized layer on the surface is run into the pickling vessel from a left side in figure, and acid liquid is supplied from an inlet side nozzle 12 provided on the upper surface side of the steel sheet at the inlet side and shifted toward the outlet side according to advancing of the steel sheet. The new acid liquid 6 is always supplied in the vessel to promote the pickling work. In the vessel, further, the upper weir 7 and the lower weirs 3, 5 are arranged in the same interval, and by liquid stirring action with the weirs, the pickling is further promoted. In the lower weir 3 arranged at the lower surface side and at the inlet side of the steel sheet, an acid liquid supplying nozzle 20 is incorporated and since the acid liquid is made flow out toward the lower surface of the steel sheet from this nozzle 20, the steel sheet S is prevented from the direct contact with the upper surface of the lower weir 3 and the development of the scratching flaw on the lower surface of the steel sheet is surely prevented.

The gates 3, 4 are of rectangular column shape having the width ranging over the whole width of the steel strip 1, and the the upper faces or bottom faces of the columns are formed by the curved surface of arc-shaped cross section at the side edge on the inlet side so that the passage between the gates 3, 4 may be converged toward the strip passing direction of the steel strip 1 at the passage 2 with thc changing inclination with the curvature, and the radius of curvature R1 is about 20-100mm, and R2 is >=about 500mm. This constitution keeps the concentration of the treatment liquid around the metallic strip 1 in the prescribed range, executing the efficient surface treatment.

The positions of an upper surface weir 2 and the lower surface weir 3 to the steel plate in the travelling direction are staggered and there is no narrow gap between the upper surface weir 2 and the lower surface weirs 3. By the upper surface weir, the flow of acidic liquid moving with the steel plate 4 accompanying the surface of the steel plate 4 is restrained. Further, the equipment may be constituted so that the upper surface weir can be moved inclined in the travelling direction of the steel plate.
