    • PURPOSE:To prevent gas defect in a steel casting by using sand specifying blending ratio of furan reconditioned sand and new sand and adding rates of resin and hardening agent as back sand and chromite sand as facing sand in a mold and molding. CONSTITUTION:As the back sand, which does not directly contact with molten steel, the sand, in which the furan reconditioned sand and the new sand are mixed to 1:1 ratio and the adding rate of the resin is made to >=2% of the sand wt. and the adding rate of the hardening agent is made to >=30% of resin wt., is used. Further, as the facing sand, which directly contacts with the molten steel, the chromite/alkali phenol sand is used. By this method, the facing sand is instantaneously sintered and film is formed between the molten steel and the back sand and gas generating in the back sand is discharged to out of the mold without any contacting with the molten steel.

    • PURPOSE:To perfectly deaerate without help of worker by a method wherein felts are arranged on the peripheral edge of a model, to which a base material is laminated, after that, the whole surface is covered with a film so as to suck bubbles in the base material from suction ports provided on the molded through hoses. CONSTITUTION:Resin-impregnated fibrous base material 3 is laminated to a model 2. A proper number of suction ports 4 are provided on the peripheral top surface of the model 2 at the predetermined intervals so as to be connected through hoses 10 to a vacuum pump arranged outside. In addition, at the end part on the model side of each suction port 4, a felt 5 of proper shape and size is arranged. The above-mentioned whole matter is covered with a film 6, the peripheral edge of which is hermetically fixed to the side end face of the model 2 by means of keep plates 7 and tap bolts 8. During deaeration, excess resin and bubbles in the resin-impregnated fibrous base material 3 are sucked out of the suction ports 4 by means of a vacuum pump. The felt 5 prevents the resin from travelling through the suction port 4 to the vacuum pump and also prevents the film 6 from clogging the suction port 4.
