    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the dislocation of an O-ring and prevent a gas leak by seal failure by fixing a fitting block to a housing through a fastening member from two different directions. CONSTITUTION:A fitting block 40 is mounted from vertical direction on the outer surface of a cup body 2 by bolts 51 and also fixed to the cup body 2 by bolts 52 added from the horizontal direction orthogonal to this. Even when an unnatural force if added, or vibrating action is received at the time of connecting an inlet gas pipe and a discharge gas pipe to an inlet fitting 45 and a discharge fitting 46, a seal failure by the dislocation of an O-ring 47 inserted between the fitting block 40 and the cup body 2 is never caused since the fitting block is fixed to the cup body 2 in different directions. Thus, generation of a gas leak by seal failure can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To surely avoid a volute lap from coming into contact with an end plate in a counter side by forming a recessed groove from a base end over to a final end of the volute lap, further to bury a chip seal in the recessed groove and also to low set height of the volute lap in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:In a scroll member 50, in its end plate 51, a volute lap 52 is vertically provided. Here in a point end face of the volute lap 52, a recessed groove 53 is formed from a base end O over to a final end E along a volute. A chip seal 54 is fitted to the inside of the recessed groove. Then in the volute lap 52, in a range from the final end E to a position B of advancing by an angle of 180 deg. along the volute, height is set lower than in the other range, that is, the range from the position B to the base end O. That is, height of the volute lap 52 is gradually decreased, for instance, from the position B over to the final end E. On the other hand, the chip seal 54 is buried in the recessed groove 53 in a part from the base end O to the position B and exposed from the recessed groove 53 in a part from the position B to the final end E.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate machining and assembling operations of a fixed scroll and capacity control block by independently manufacturing the capacity control block and the fixed scroll, and disposing the capacity control block in close contact with the outer surface of the fixed scroll. CONSTITUTION:A pair of bypass ports 33a, 33b communicated with compression chambers 19a, 19b are bored on an end plate 11 of a fixed scroll 10, and a capacity control block 50 is disposed in such a manner as to come into close contact with the outer surface of the end plate 11. Consequently, the inside of a housing 1 is partitioned into a suction chamber 28 and a discharge cavity 31. A discharge hole 53 communicated with a discharge port 29 is bored in the center portion of the capacity control block 50, and it is opened or closed by a discharge valve 30. A blind hole-like cylinder 54 is disposed on one side of the discharge hole 53; and a blind hole-like cavity 55 is provided in parallel to the cylinder 54 on the other side. Each opening end is communicated with the suction chamber 28. A cup-shaped piston valve 56 is inserted into the cylinder 54; and a control valve 58, into the cavity 55.
