    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a circuit constitution by forming an a.c. amplitude estimation value, controlling a controller to make zero an error between the value and an amplitude value of an a.c. signal to be detected, and obtaining the amplitude value from an output. SOLUTION: A phase advancement circuit 5, receiving a voltage signal from an a.c. voltage detector 4, outputs a shift phase voltage signal having a phase advanced by a predetermined amount. A multiplier 14 and a multiplier 15 operate respectively a first, a second a.c. estimation signals by multiplying a first a.c. reference wave of the same phase as that of a voltage signal output from a trigonometric function calculator 13, a second phase-advanced a.c. reference wave output from the calculator 13 by an output of a controller 11. An output of a subtracter 6 becomes a difference of the voltage signal and the first a.c. estimation signal, and an output of a subtracter 7 becomes a difference of the output of the phase advancement circuit 5 and the second a.c. estimation signal. These outputs are multiplied by the first, second a.c. reference waves, and the results are added thereby obtaining an output at an adder 10. The output of the controller 11 as an integrator is changed so that the output of the adder 10 becomes close to zero, whereby the output is nearly equal to the voltage signal, and an amplitude value of a target voltage is detected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the frequency without using a phase detector and a counter by providing a means for calculating the frequency of a three-phase AC power supply where the angular velocity of a voltage vector is added to a reference angular velocity. SOLUTION: A three-phase/two-phase conversion circuit 101 converts voltages VR, VS, and VT of a three-phase AC power supply 1 read from an A/D conversion circuit used for control operation to values on d-q axis rotary coordinates. A low-pass filter 103 eliminates a high-order constituent contained also in a constituent converted onto the d-q axis after 3phase/bi-phase conversion. Then, a phase difference ψ between a d-axis and a voltage vector is obtained from the output of the low-pass filter 103. Then, the amount of phase change per unit time, namely an angular velocity ω', is obtained by a differential circuit 105. Then, the angular velocities ω' and ω0 are added by an adder 106 for obtaining the angular velocity ω of a three-phase AC power supply, which is multiplied by 1/(2±) by a counter 107, thus obtaining a frequency (f) of the three-phase AC power supply 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an inverter only by one voltage detector by specifying the abnormal state of a voltage detector when the output of an adder exceeds a specified value, and performing the protecting action for a power converter by a fault processing circuit. SOLUTION: Since the algebraic sum of respective line voltages VUS, VVW and VWU is O in principle, the output of an adder 1 is 0 when a voltage detector 14 is normal. When abnormality is caused at a part of the voltage detector 14, however, the output of a certain magnitude is generated in the adder 1. The output is detected by a comparator 2, the abnormal signal of the voltage detector 14 is outputted and an inverter 10 is stopped. Since there is the detection error in the voltage detector 14, it is necessary to provide the adequate detecting width so that the comparator 2 does not judge the detection error as the abnormality. In this way, the control of the inverter and the protection of a load can be performed without using independent voltage detectors for the control and the protection, respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress voltage distortion corresponding to harmonic of load by composing the terminal voltage of load as the combination of an output from a power converter having lower switching frequency and an output from an auxiliary power converter having higher switching frequency thereby quickening control response. CONSTITUTION:An adder/subtractor 401 outputs a difference between an output voltage reference 303 and terminal voltage of a load. A band-pass filter detects a voltage difference component in a frequency band (corrective frequency band) which can not pass through a low frequency inverter 1 but can pass through a high frequency inverter 11. When a detected signal is multiplied by K at an amplifier 503 and fed to a PWM modulation circuit 501, the high frequency inverter 11 outputs a voltage proportional to voltage distortion in reverse phase. The output is passed through an AC filter in the high frequency inverter 11 in order to remove ripples and then added to the output voltage from the low frequency inverter 1 through a transformer 15. Consequently, voltage difference is reduced by a factor of about K as compared with a case where power is fed only through the low frequency inverter 1.
