摘要： PURPOSE: To rapidly damp vibration of a bridge beam when the bridge beam is vibrated by an earthquake or the like. CONSTITUTION: A spring 18 and a damper 19 are provided on the opposite ends of a weight 17, respectively, and these are fixed to a frame 20 to form a damping device 16. The damping device 16 is movably mounted to a base 13 through a spring 24. Further a lever 14 is pivotally mounted to the base 13 and a rod 25 projected from the device 16 is engaged with one end of the lever 14, and a rod 26 connected to a bridge beam supporting point 12 such as an abutment or pier is engaged with the other end of the lever 14. When the bridge beam vibrates due to an earthquake or the like, the weight 17 of the device 16 vibrates, thereby generating a force of inertia and a reaction force transmitted from the supporting point 12 through the lever 14 is added to the force of inertia so that amplified control forces act on the bridge beam.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce displacement of a bridge body in the case of an earthquake to prevent accidents such as the fall of bridge by coming into contact with a sliding surface so that displacement relative the bridge body can be made parallel with the bridge body under the control of its vibration, and fixing an extended part outward the bridge body in the direction of the axis of the bridge to the abutment and/or ground. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of a bridge body 1 are supported on bridge piers 2, and the bridge body is supported by cables 4 from the main tower 3. A sliding surface 12 is provided on the bridge body 1 under the control of its vibration in separation from the bridge body 1 to mount so that displacement relative to the bridge body can be made. An extended part outward of the bridge body 1 in the direction of the axis of a bridge is fixed to the abutment and/or ground 13 on the fixed surface 14. According to the constitution, variations can be made in each other, vibration is damped by mutual function, and damping force against the displacement by an earthquake is dispersed to the whole bridge surface. A vibration controller is fixed monolithically to the bridge body 1 under the control of its vibration and is extended outward of the bridge body 1 in the direction of the axis of the bridge, so that the outside part of the bridge body is brought into contact with the ground 13 on the sliding surface. According to the constitution, response displacement in the case of an earthquake in a long bridge can be remarkably lowered by friction with the vibration controller.

CONSTITUTION: A vertical member constituting a tower 2 is divided into an upper-side member 2AA and a base-section side member 2AB, and a bearing section 5 is installed at the division point. A section between the members 2AA and 2AB is connected by common steel 5A having strength more bendable than the members 2AA and 2AB, and the member 2AA bears the tower slantingly in all directions of 360 deg. by the elasticity of the common steel 5A. The bonding sections of the members 2AA, 2AB and a horizontal member are also formed in bearing structure. A damper 6 is fitted to a cylindrical body by a steel plate for an elastoplastic hysteresis type damper while surrounding the bearing sections 5 in each bearing section 5 mounted on the tower 2. Vibrational energy is absorbed at every revolution of a hysteresis loop by applying stress and vibrations are damped. Accordingly, the vibrations of the member 2AA do not increase gradually.
