    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation feeling of a transmission in a downshift operation and in an upshift operation in a low temperature, and prevent the jump out of the gears. SOLUTION: A gear chamfer 8b has a tip chamfer which is opposed to a sleeve chamfer 32b and is formed asymmetric in the circumferential direction. The tip chamfer comprises a longer chamfered section 8c along the same direction as the rotational direction R1 of an output shaft and a shorter chamfered section 8d along the opposite direction. The angle θ3 of the longer chamfered section 8c to the circumferential direction and the angle θ4 of the shorter chamfered section 8d to the circumferential direction meet the relation θ3 >θ4 . The sleeve chamfer 32b has a tip chamfer which is opposed to the gear chamfer 8b and is formed asymmetric in the circumferential direction. The tip chamfer comprises a longer chamfered section 32c along the same direction as the rotational direction R1 of the output shaft and a shorter chamfered section 32d along the opposite direction. The angle θ1 of the longer chamfered section 32c to the circumferential direction and the angle θ2 of the shorter chamfered section 32d to the circumferential direction meet the relation θ1 >θ2 .

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the weight of a car body from being one-sided to front wheels with a bonnet kept low in height by arranging the center of gravity of both an engine and a transmission at the position of the car body rearward from front wheel axles in such a way that the output shaft of the transmission and a center differential gear shall be coaxial. CONSTITUTION:A transmission 2 is arranged on a car body rearward from the axial centers of front wheel axles 10L and 10R, and an engine 1 is arranged rearward on the car body. This permits a power unit center to be positioned rearward on the car body considerably apart from the axial centers of the front wheel axles 10L and 10R so as to prevent the weight of the car body from being one-sided to front wheels 11L and 11R so that running stability and the like can thereby be enhanced. In addition, a center differential gear 7 is so arranged as to be coaxial with the main shaft 5 of the transmission 2, and a transfer mechanism 12 is arranged at the side of the casing 3 of the transmission 2. This therefore prevents both of the transmission 2 and the engine 1 from being arranged upward in particular to avoid interfering with the transfer mechanism, thereby making it possible to make a bonnet low in height.
