    • PURPOSE:To always favorably control speed change when speed change operation is simultaneously performed in a main and a sub-transmissions by controlling the coupling force of a friction element for changeover of shift step in the normal driving condition of the sub-transmission, and controlling the coupling force of a friction element for engine brake in its reverse driving condition. CONSTITUTION:An automatic transmission 1 is constituted of a torque converter 10, a main transmission 20 arranged on the concentrical axis of it, and a sub- transmission 30 arranged on the parallel axis with the former. The sub- transmission 30 is provided with a single planetary gear mechanism 31, a direct coupling clutch 32 is arranged between the ring gear 31a and the sun gear 31b, and a one-way clutch 33 and a deceleration brake 34 are arranged between the sun gear 31b and a transmission case 3. In this case, when speed change operation is simultaneously performed in the main and sub- both transmissions and the sub-transmission 30 is in the normal driving condition driven by engine output for example, the direct coupling clutch 32 is controlled so as to change the gear ratio of the sub-transmission according to change of gear ratio of the main transmission 20.

In a speed change time when the direct connection clutch 32 is coupled, a coupling pressure is controlled and supplied to the clutch 32 by the operation of the accumulator 116 through the first oil passages 111, 113 and in the speed change time when the other friction element is coupled and the direct connection clutch 32 is released, the coupling pressure is discharged while being controlled by the linear solenoid valve 103 through the second oil passage 104.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent shock during speed change by correcting vehicle speed, changed to a low speed stage set in a speed change map, to the high speed side by the specified quantity when throttle opening is less than the specified value and the rate-of-change of vehicle speed is more than the specified value, thus performing speed change control. CONSTITUTION:Multistage speed change gear mechanism is automatically operated according to a speed change map preset on the basis of throttle opening information from a throttle opening detecting means for detecting throttle opening and vehicle speed information for a vehicle speed detecting means for detecting vehicle speed. A vehicle speed rate-of-change computing means is provided to compute the rate-of- change of vehicle speed from the vehicle speed information, and the vehicle speed changed to the low speed stage set in the speed change map is corrected to the high speed side by the specified quantity when the throttle opening is less than the specified value and the vehicle speed change-of-rate is more than the specified value, thus performing speed change control. The vehicle speed during speed change operation is thereby prevented from being lowered down below the creeping speed of the concerned speed change stage even with response delay by oil pressure between a speed change command and the actual execution of speed change, and thus shock during speed change is prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of jumping-across shift control by shortening an intermediate step bypass time more than that of a jump across shift time of a back out up shift following with rapid deceleration of a throttle opening at the time of a jump across shift of a manual down shift following with an operation of a shift lever in a condition in which the throttle opening is fully closed. SOLUTION: A gear ratio of a shift gear mechanism is changed to nearly 3 speed, start of shift operation toward 2 speed is allowed at a time point tx when a 4-2 inhibiting flag is reset to O, and its shift operation is started at a reset time paint t2 in the case of re-shift inhibiting condition. In a manual 4-2 down shift jumping-across shift, a back time T1 is set for a comparatively long time, and every time points t2, tx are timely first more than a time point t3 when the T1 is made time up. It is thus possible to shorten the bypass time of 3 speed of an intermediate speed comparing with a 2-4 up shift speed changing time, speed change toward a target 2 speed is rapidly completed, and a driver utilizes an engine brake in an early stage.
