    • PURPOSE:To transmit the signal of an encoder with one signal line by inputting the 4-bit parallel signal of serial-parallel converter output, and, according to its pattern, outputting an encoder rectangular wave signal from a regenerated code converter. CONSTITUTION:A transmission side inputs rectangular wave signals A-C phases 1-3 and outputs 4-bit parallel signals 6-9 according to combination patterns of logic from a transmitted code converter 4. A parallel-serial converter 11 converts a 6-bit signal in which front and rear 'logic' 1 inputs 5 and 'logic' 0 input 10 are added to the parallel signals 6-9 of the converter 4, into a serial signal 12a. A serial-parallel converter 14 on receiving side converts a serial input 12b into a 6-bit parallel signal, and 4-bits 15-18 from which each one bit in the front and rear, is removed. A regenerated code converter 19 inputs the 4-bit parallel signal which is the output of the converter 14, and outputs encoder rectangular wave signals A-phase 20, B-phase 21, C-phase 22 according to the pattern. Thus, the three signals A, B, C-phases of the encoder can be transmitted with one signal line.

    • PURPOSE:To detects open circuits of signal lines for the phases A and B of a rectangular wave and to prevent malfunction due to a noise by combining the analog sine wave signal of an encoder capable of detecting an open circuit with the rectangular wave signals of the phases A and B multiplied by this signal. CONSTITUTION:If at least one of the lines for the phases A and B is discontinued at least one of inputs of a device which performs OR operation goes up to a level High since the inputs are pulled up to the source voltage of an open circuit detector by a proper resistor and the output of the device 2 which performs the OR operation is fixed at the level High, so that a counter 4 can not be reset. The counter 4 counts up with the output of a waveform shaping device 3 and when a constant value is reached, the counter 4 inputs an open circuit detection signal to a holding device 5 for an open circuit signal, thereby detecting the disconnection of the phase A or B. If an analog sine wave signal is cut off, the signal is not inputted to the counter 4 and the open circuits of the A-phase and B-phase signals can not be detected. In this case, they are detected by an open circuit detector 6.
