    • PURPOSE:To draw a trawlnet in maximum efficiency by providing echo sounder transmitter and receiver for detecting laterally inclined directions, where directional main shaft passes through maximum width point of right and left ends of net mouth, in the center of upper part or lower part of net mouth of trawlnet. CONSTITUTION:A transmission circuit 11 is controlled by timing pulse from a timing generating circuit 12 to switch contact points of a switch 10 in the order of (a), (b), (c) and (d), and a driving signal is successively applied to each echo sounder- transmitting and -receiving devices 2, 3, 8 and 9 for detection of upper direction, lower direction, lower direction inclined to the right and lower direction inclined to the left. Then supersonic waves S1, S2, S3 and S4 are emitted from these transmitting and receiving devices to each receive the reflecting waves. Then, every output signals are applied through these contact points (a) to (d) of the switch 10 with a receiving circuit 13 to detect and amplify these waves and these waves are transmitted from an echo sounder transmitter 4 through a modulation circuit 14 and a transmission circuit 15. An echo sounder receiver 6 on a ship side records received signals through a demodulation circuit 18 on a recording device 20. On one hand, distances WL and WR ranging from the center of net mouth 1a to the left end and the light end are measured by the demodulated signals to an operation circuit 22 and displayed on a display 23.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent an error while correcting a receiving level by concentrically providing a transmitting-receiving element having a circular cross-section and a transmitting-receiving element having a rectangular cross-section and also providing a transmiting-receiving element to an outer peripheral part and mounting adder circuits and two types of correcting circuits. CONSTITUTION:In a case using a dual beam method, elements A - G are vibrated in the same phase at the time of transmission by the input from an oscillation source 1 to transmit beams and the outputs of the elements A - G are amplified by preamplifiers 2a - 2g at the time of reception and, thereafter, the weighting coefficients corresponding to the areas of the elements are provided to the outputs of the elements A - G to add the wide directional beam output Dw only of the element A and the weighted outputs by adders 3a - 3f and correction operation is performed on the basis of the obtained narrow directional beam output Dn by a correction operation circuit 4a. In the case of a split beam method, the outputs of the amplifiers 2a - 2c obtained by the same phase oscillation of the elements A - G and the outputs of the amplifiers 2a, 2b, 2d are added to the adders 3c, 3d to obtain two beam outputs Sx1, Sx2 having distance difference in an X-axis direction. In the same way, beam outputs Sy1, Sy2 in a Y-axis direction are obtained and the angle of a reflecting body is calculated from the synthesis of the phase angles of an X-axis and a Y-axis and a receiving level is corrected corresponding to the angle.

    • PURPOSE:To heighten the gain of wave receiving array and to improve S/N by obtaining sound wave arrival angle from a phase difference and increasing the number of oscillators to increase wave receiving area by the use of the SSBL principle for knowing the bearing of a sound producing object and a reflecting material. CONSTITUTION:Output signals of a row of a plurality of oscillator 1a-5f linearly arranged are synthesized by the use of a synthesizing means 3a and further the output signals containing or without the all or a part of a plurality of the oscillators are synthesized by a second synthesizing means 3b. The internal of the center of arrangement of an oscillator group synthesized by the first synthesizing means 3a and the other center of the arrangement of another oscillator group synthesized by the second synthesizing means 3b are made less than one-wave length. From the result of such arrangement and synthesis the interval between center axes is held below one wave length, sensitiveness enough to enlarge the wave receiving area is good and S/N becomes good while the detection of sound wave arrival bearing with few errors can be performed.

    • PURPOSE:To directly estimate the body length of fishes forming a group from the video of the fish group by using a transmitter-receiver which forms cross fan beams in the transmitting and received acoustic waves. CONSTITUTION:A transmission circuit 2 produces pulse signals and sends the pulse signals to a transmitter 3 upon receiving a transmission trigger signal from a display 1. The transmitter sends electric signals into water after converting the signals into ultrasonic wave signals. A receiver 4 converts echo pulses into electric signals upon receiving the echo pulses. While the directivity of the receiver 4 is also controlled by a fan beam, the transmitter 3 and receiver 4 are fitted to the bottom or side of a fishing boat in a T-shape or after the transmitter 3 and receiver 4 are assembled to a T-shape by shifting the receiver 4 from the transmitter 3 by 90 deg. so that the fan beams can become wider in the length direction and very narrow in the width direction of the boat. A reception circuit 5 is provided with a time variable gain (TVG) circuit which cancels the diffusion and absorption of acoustic waves and sends an echo level to a display 1 after the circuit 5 faithfully amplifies the magnitude of the echo level. The display 1 causes a trigger signal for transmission to be generated and, at the same time, display received signals with a density or color corresponding to the level of the received signals.
