    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a form for tunnel excavation and a tunnel excavation method for safely and efficiently excavating a tunnel by allowing inspection (survey) of a defective condition of directly placed concrete at the back face of the form.
      SOLUTION: An inner form S is used in the tunnel excavation method of covering the peripheral wall of the excavated natural ground with the inner form S with a predetermined space and placing concrete in a space between the inner form S and the peripheral wall by direct placing. A plurality of inspection openings 90a are formed in a steel external wall surface 90, abutting on the directly placed concrete C, of the inner form S. The inspection openings 90a are provided with embedded inspection wall parts 92 made of fiber reinforced plastic allowing the transmission of elastic wave (ultrasonic wave) or electromagnetic wave for inspecting the defective condition by transmitting and receiving the elastic wave (ultrasonic wave) or electromagnetic wave to and from the directly placed concrete C.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make tunneling work more efficient by preventing a back-filling material from adhering to an excavator body so as to prevent a decrease in propulsive force, in a tunnel excavator.
      SOLUTION: This tunnel excavator is provided with an adhesion preventing material discharge device 41 which is located in front of a back-filling injection device 34, so as to discharge an adhesion preventing material for preventing the back-filling material from adhering to an outer peripheral surface of the excavator body 11. The device 41 is constituted as follows: primary storage tanks 44 and 45 are fixed to inner peripheral surfaces of many discharge holes 42 and 43, which are formed all around a front barrel 12, in accordance with the discharge holes 42 and 43; and an opening/closing operation valve 47, a delivery pump 48 and a storage tank 49 are coupled to the tanks 44 and 45 via supply piping 46.

      SOLUTION: In a back-filling injection device 34, the injection passages 35 and 36 along an excavating direction are circumferentially formed almost at uniform intervals within a plate thickness of a rear barrel 13; opening/closing operating valves 38 and 42, delivery pumps 39 and 43 and storage tanks 40 and 44 are coupled to base ends of the respective injection passages 35 and 36 via coupling pipes 37 and 41; and a tip part is opened in a rear end surface of the rear barrel 13 so as to communicate with a tail void B.
