    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a wire for an optical fiber capable of keeping the outside diameter of the wire for the optical fiber constant even under wide operating conditions ranging from a low to a high wire drawing speeds. SOLUTION: This apparatus for producing a wire 7 for an optical fiber comprises a resin die 6 for a bare wire 3 for the optical fiber, a cooling cylinder 5, installed in the former stage of the resin die 6 and capable of regulating the temperature of the bare wire 3, an outside diameter measuring instrument 8, arranged in the latter stage of the resin due 6 and capable of measuring the outside diameter of the wire 7 for the optical fiber and an outside diameter controller 9 capable of feeding back a control signal obtained by performing the computing based on the measured values of the outside diameter of the wire 7 to a flow control device 14 for a cooling gas 10 fed to the cooling cylinder 5. The temperature of the wire 3 for the optical fiber just before entering the resin die 6 is regulated on the basis of the actually measured outside diameter of the wire 7 for the optical fiber to thereby keep the outside diameter of the wire 7 for the optical fiber constant.

    • PURPOSE:To so constituting the title method that an actual pressurizing force is made into a preset value reliably and balance control of a slide does not exert bad influence on control of actual pressurizing force, by a method wherein along with control of the first control valve of each of levelling cylinders by a specific means the second control valve of each of the levelling cylinders is controlled under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A servovalve 12 is actuated by giving pressurizing force of a main cylinder 4, supporting reaction force of each of levelling cylinders 8, preset actual pressurizing force and pressure which has been calculated with the other value and is to command each of the cylinders 8 to a servoamplifier 17. In this instance, feed back of the pressure of the cylinder 8 detected by a pressure detector 14 is performed and the actual pressurizing force acting upon resin is controlled at a fixed level. When a difference between a top and bottom positions of a piston rod of each of the cylinders 8 detected by each of position detectors 15 exceeds a fixed value in a detection processing time, balance control of a slide 5 is performed by contracting a cylinder 8 by extracting a microscopic quantity of hydraulic oil from an oil chamber on the lower side of the cylinder 8 to such an extent as to not affecting control of the servovalve 12 by actuating a valve 13.

    • PURPOSE:To position the beginning of winding of a wire rod tightly along the inside surface of a flange and improve the winding style, by gearing the wire rod to the gearing members furnished about at the periphery of the flange at a side of a bobbin. CONSTITUTION:The edge 35a of a cover 35 extended integrally from the periphery of a rotary gearing plate 14 is positioned near a flange 8a at a side of a bobbin 8, and inside the edge 35a are furnished a pair of gearing pieces 36 in the direction of the diameter. The end of a wire rod 50 is held and fixed between the rotary gearing plate 14 and a friction plate 21b of an intermediate gearing plate 18, and, when a traverse device 28 is activated to reciprocate a guide sheave 31 within the width of the bobbin 8 to start a winding of the wire rod 50, as well as rotating the bobbin 8 by the gearing plate 14 through the intermediate gearing plate 18, the wire rod 50 is geared to the gearing pieces 36 at the position over the peripheral edge of the flange 8a, and the winding is started from the end of the drum of the bobbin 8 along the inner surface of the flange 8a.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent hardening or soldifying of fluid in the clearance at the side face of gear rotor by arranging an annular seal member coaxial with the gear rotor shaft to the sideboard of housing.
      CONSTITUTION: An operating clearance 8 is formed between the gear rotors 4, 5 of gear pump and the sideboard 3 of housing. An annular seal member 13 coaxial with the rotor shaft is provided to the sideboard of housing at the position furthest from the rotor shafts 6, 7 on the side face of gear rotor to press the contacting face of seal member through a spring 18 against the side face of gear rotor. Since resin fluid will never flow into the clearance at the side face of gear rotor and hardened or solidified, proper operational clearance can be set freely.
