    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing oil for a brittle material having excellent dispersibility in water when mixed with a polishing material, scarcely aggregating even when abrasive grains settle and readily redispersible, a composition for processing the brittle material containing the processing oil and polishing material and a method for processing the brittle material using the composition for processing.
      SOLUTION: The processing oil for the brittle material comprises (A) 5-80 mass% of at least one kind selected from the group of 7-20C saturated at unsaturated fatty acids and hydroxyfatty acids, (B) a basic substance in an amount of 1-2 mol based on 1 mol of the component (A) and (C) ≥5 mass% of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of water, polyethylene glycol, polyglycols and alcohols. The composition for processing the brittle material comprises the processing oil and polishing material. The method for processing the brittle material comprises using the composition for processing.
