    • PURPOSE:To assemble a plurality of ceramic formed bodies in various shapes and to keep a high joint strength by a method wherein butting surfaces are wetted under highly humid atmosphere and, after that, pressed against each other and finally dried. CONSTITUTION:Surfaces 11 and 21, which make them possible to be abutted against each other, are trued at the positions, which make the joint of ceramic formed bodies dried after being formed by casting in and demolded from a water absorptive mold. Next, the butting surfaces are absorbed with water and become wet by being brought into contact with highly humid atmosphere. Wetting treatment is to give viscous states, which make mutual joining by fusion, to the butting surfaces of the respective formed bodies and to be prefer ably wetted so that the water content turns to be about 15wt.% or more. Immedi ately after the above-mentioned wetting treatment is applied to the respective formed bodies, the butting surfaces are abutted against each other and the drying of the resultant body is performed under the state being applied with proper pressing force.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the crack resistance and spalling resistance of the ceramics tube as a radiant tube of a steel products heating furnace, etc., by forming the tube of a sintered body of a mixed phase structure in which aluminum titanate phase and an anorthite phase co-exist uniformly and finely at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:This ceramics tube consists of the sintered body having the mixed phase structure in which the aluminum titanate phase and the anorthite phase co-exist uniformly and finely at 100:5 to 15 ratio by weight. The tube is produced in the following way, at powder mixture composed of TiO2 and Al2O3 at 1:1 molar ratio is calcined at 1550 to 1650 deg.C and the product of the calcination is pulverized to obtain the powder (A) of the aluminum titanate. On the other hand, a powder mixture composed of limestone and kaolin at 26:74 to 29:71 ratio by weight is calcined at 1220 to 1270 deg.C and the product of calcination is pulverized to obtain the arnothite powder (B). Water is then added to the mixture composed of 100 pts.wt. powder A and 5 to 15 pts. powder B to prepare a slurry. This slurry is cast into a water absorptive mold for centrifugal molding and is made into a cylindrical molding; thereafter, the molding is dried and is calcined at 1400 to 1650 deg.C.
