The rotation of the vertical transmission shaft 74 is transmitted to a front axle 73 so as to rotate driving front wheels 1. The vertical shaft transmission part 70 comprises upper case parts 70A formed integrally with the lateral shaft transmission part 60 and rotatable lower case part 70B. The connecting part for the case parts 70A, 70B is provided at a rotatable part 70C for steering. A part of a transmission case main body above the rotatable part 70C, and the lateral shaft transmission parts 60 provide a lubricating oil reservoir.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with an automatic clutch operation specification and a manual clutch operation specification with a single transmission case by allowing a shift control valve to set the automatic clutch operation specification. SOLUTION: A main clutch 53 is engaged only when a rocking arm 64 is located at a forward position F and a reverse position R, and the main clutch 53 is kept disengaged when the rocking arm 64 is located at other positions. The main clutch 53 is engaged after the synchronous action of gear engagement by a forward/reverse switching action is completed. If a clutch pedal 19 is depressed when an oil path 74 is opened in the forward state or the reverse state, the main clutch 53 can be forcefully disengaged. This structure is an automatic operation specification constituted of the end section of a shift shaft 62 and a transmission case 10 of the portion shiftably surrounding it, and a forward/reverse switching action can be taken merely by a single action for moving a shuttle bar 17.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a clutch mechanism to work interlocking with the forward/backward changeover operation, and to reduce the cost of manufacturing the clutch mechanism. SOLUTION: A forward/backward changeover mechanism 25 of gear type and a clutch mechanism 24 to connect and disconnect the power transmission to the changeover mechanism 25 in accordance with the changeover operation are interposed in a power transmitting system from an engine to a running device so that a clutch mechanism 24 is composed, wherein the arrangement includes a clutch 53 to connect and disconnect the power transmission, a spring 54 to actuate and energize the clutch 53 into the power transmitting condition, and a pressure oil supplying control means which changes over the clutch into the non-transmitting condition against the energizing force of the spring by supplying the pressure oil in association with changing-over of the mechanism 25 to the neutral position of shifting and releases the pressure oil in association with the changing-over of the mechanism 25 to the forward position and backward position.
