    • PURPOSE:To provide a method for production of silver halide photographic emulsion which is capable of improving efficiency of the chemical and spectral sensitization and reduction of the production line through concurrently performing the formation of the silver halide fine grains and the desalting and concentration by using a device which is able to prevent the unwanted ions from entering the production line at the time of forming the fine grains and forming the fine grains having pure crystal internal structure. CONSTITUTION:The fine grains are formed by using teh device which is able to prevent the unwanted ions other than silver and halogen ions from entering the fine grain forming vessel by using an ion-exchange membrane module. Electrolyte compound dilute aq. solutions such as the gelatin aq. solution 1, silver nitrate aq. solution 3, alkali halide aq. solution 4, electrode chamber solution 5 and desalting chamber solution 6 are circulated through the ion-exchange membrane module 20. The interior of the ion-exchange membrane module 20 is separated by the cation-exchange resin membranes 16 and anion-exchange resin membranes 17 into the emulsion chambers 13, silver nitrate chambers 14, halogen chambers 12, electrode chambers 11 and desalting chamber 15 through which respective solutions are circulated independently. At this time, the fine grains formed in the emulsion chambers 13 are circulated through the circulation line 7 until the concn. of the fine grains attains to a specified value and then charged to the reaction vessel.
