    • PURPOSE:To provide a device capable of inexpensively producing oxide superconductor crystal having high characteristics and stable quality in a large amt. CONSTITUTION:This oxide superconductor producing apparatus consists of a horizontal type electric furnace internally arranged with a furnace core tube (10) and a heating device having a sample driving mechanism for moving the oxide superconductor moldings arranged within the furnace core tube in the longitudinal direction of the furnace core tube. The heating section of this horizontal type electric furnace has plural pieces of heating element sections (2, 6, 8, 15, 17) respectively divided in the longitudinal direction and vertical direction. The respective heating element sections have control sections capable of independently controlling temps. Further, the apparatus is provided with high load density type heating elements (4, 12) at one end of at least a part of the heating element sections facing each other above and below so that rapid temp. gradients are formed in the two directions; the longitudinal direction and the vertical direction. The heating sections are longitudinally divided to >=2 pieces to provide the mechanisms capable of varying the spacings between the respective heating sections. The max. steep tap. gradients are obtd. if the one-side end parts of the heating sections on the high-tap. side among the heating sections divided to >=2 pieces are provided with the high load density type heating elements above and below these parts and cooling structures using air or water as a refrigerant are located between the divided heating sections.
