摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the temp. drop of molten slag tapped from the slag tundish, to improve a drafts making capacity and quality by stably supplying the slag to the melt hitting point of a drafts making machine and further to decrease slag removing operations on line. CONSTITUTION:This tundish for production of rock wool is provided with a water jacket 11 by natural convection on the outer periphery of the tundish, a pouring port 8 consisting of a V-shaped ceramic member having 50 to 70 deg. groove angle of a cassette type on a discharge side and a tilting mechanism by a cylinder 7 in the lower part of the side wall. This process for production of the rock wool consists in using this device.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the supplying device having good efficiency of the molten slag for producing rock wool. CONSTITUTION:A pouring basin 12 is provided in a molten slag supplying section to absorb the fluctuation in the melt. A trough 11 provided with a water cooled mouse 13 in a discharge part is mounted on a truck frame. Further, an oscillating mechanism which can swivel the front end of the trough laterally and a tilting mechanism which can tilt the entire part of the trough are provided.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture inexpensively and easily a satisfactory composite roll which has a uniform thickness of the outside layer and is free from mixing in components by supporting and disposing concentrically the pipe having the boundary diameter of the inside and outside layers of the composite roll in a casting mold for the body part of the roll and pouring different molten metals into the inside and outside cavities in the same ascending state of the molten metal surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 14 having the diameter equiv. to the diameter in the boundary part between the inside and outside layers of a composite roll is concentrically supported and disposed into a casting mold 11 for the body part of the roll by a cope 10 and a drag 10. Respectively different molten metals are poured into the inside and outside cavities 13a, 13b of the casting mold by bottom pouring 16, 17 and the molten metal surfaces in this case are risen in the same state. The molten metals are welded satisfactorily to the surface of the pipe 14, thus forming the satisfactory composite roll without mixing of the different molten metals. Even if the pipe 14 is partly eroded, the different molten metals are hardly discharged and mixed as the molten metals rise at the same level.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the casting surface of a casting by compounding a suitable amt. of phosphoric acid binder with refractory raw material powder to form a durable casting mold and drying the mold thereby permitting the repeated use of the durable casting mold with high strength and decreasing the gas to be generated in the stage of casting a molten metal. CONSTITUTION:About 20-90wt% phosphoric acid binder such as aluminum phosphate and magnesium phosphate is compounded and kneaded with the ordinary refractory raw material powder such as alumina or zircon and the mixture is molded by ordinary rammer molding, casting, etc. and is dried. The resulted durable casting molds 5, 7 have the high strength and can be repeatedly used. The gas to be generated from the casting mold during casting of the molten metal is decreased and the casting surface of the casting is good.

摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress the reaction of a molten metal and slag and casting mold and to permit the easy rapping of a casting by compounding a suitable amt. of binder and water with refractory raw material powder, coating the mixture of the durable casting mold, heating the mold at an adequate temp. to dry and applying a coating material on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The mold parting material is prepd. by compounding 0.5-25wt% clay mineral such as 'KIBUSHI' clay, org. binder such as molasses or inorg. binder such as sodium silicate with the refractory raw material powder of alumina, magnesia, etc., compounding, if necessary, water therewith and kneading the mixture. Such mold parting material is coated on the durable casting molds 1-3 and is dried at an adequate temp. of 50-300 deg.C. The conventional surface coating material is applied on the surface after drying. The mold parting material has adequate strength and is easily strippable and therefore the material permits the easy rapping and suppresses the penetration of the molten metal 4, slag or flux into the durable casting mold and the reaction thereof with the durable casting mold.

CONSTITUTION:The mold coating material is prepd. by adding 1-40pts.wt. phosphoric acid binder soln. to 100pts.wt. mixture composed of 10-70wt% refractory material and 30-90wt% carbon material. The refractory material is used by combining 1 or >=2 kinds refractory materials suitable for using conditions. Burning and surface roughening increase if the carbon material is used at =90wt%. The mechanical strength is low if the binder soln. is used at =40pts.wt.
