    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stirring effect on a molten metal and to enable the easy formation of gas flow passages by spirally disposing the gas flow passages into the dense refractories of a plug and blowing a molten metal stirring gas. SOLUTION: The gas blowing plug 1 is formed to a truncated circular cone shape of a spiral form by winding the dense refractories 2 of green sheets of a prescribed thickness apart prescribed intervals. Partitions 4 are spirally disposed apart prescribed distances in the spiral gaps 3 thereof. The bottom of the gas blowing plug 1 is provided with a gas pool part communicating the gaps 3 and this part is connected to a gas introducing pipe. Inert gas is supplied to this gas introducing pipe and is blown like a tornado into the molten metal from the spirally partitoned and formed gas flow passages 7. The blowing of the stirring gas in a state of generating twists is made possible even by the gas blowing plug 1 of a solid type. The stirring effect is thus enhanced by a convectional effect, the dispersion of air bubbles and the fining of the air bubbles.
