    • PURPOSE:To get a laser oscillator which can do stable laser processing, while maintaining the common focus arrangement of an unstable resonator always normally, by providing means for detecting the diameter of the laser beam emitted from a resonator, and means for controlling the resonator length by shifting both or either of a full reflecting mirror and an enlarging mirror by the signal from this means. CONSTITUTION:When the diameter of a laser beam 9 is larger than the diameter of the set opening 24 of a position sensor 23, the laser beam 9, which can not pass the set opening 24, is applied to the periphery of the set opening 24, so the heat caused by the laser output is transmitted from the periphery of the position sensor to a temperature sensor, and the output signal Ep is added to a resonator length controller 21. The resonator length controller 21 compares this output signal Ep with the set level signal Es, and adds the deviation signal + E between both signals Ep and Es to a mirror driving mechanism 22, and shifts an enlarging mirror 2 until this deviation signal + E becomes zero so as to adjust the resonator length. This way, for the unstable resonator, normal focus point arrangement can be gotten, and the laser beam 9 becomes a parallel beam.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent localized stress in fixing mirrors and stably obtain high- quality laser beams by forming the contact face of a mirror cooling plate, which comes into contact with a mirror face, with the same radius of curvature as the mirrors and mirror-finishing the contact face. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams 12 are amplified into laser beams 13 with a laser catalyst 9 while travelling back and forth between a totally reflecting mirror 1 and a magnifying mirror 2 and are taken outside. Heat is absorbed in the totally reflecting mirror 1 and magnifying mirror 2 while the laser beams 12 travel back and forth in a resonator. The absorbed heat is radiated through a water-cooled mirror cooling pool 6a at the side of the magnifying mirror 2 and the whole contact face on the surface of a water-cooled mirror cooling plate at the side of the totally reflecting mirror 1, preventing rise in the temperature of the mirrors. The mirror cooling pool 6a and the mirror cooling plate on the side of the totally reflecting mirror 1 are worked into the shapes having the same curvature as the mirrors, and therefore, the curved face of the totally reflecting mirror 1 and that of the magnifying mirror 2 do not change in pressure fixation.

    • PURPOSE:To save a cost without the necessity of enlargement of a thrust magnetic bearing against abnormality by reducing thrust by means of a protective device when allowable electric current value against the maximum load of the thrust magnetic bearing is detected by a detection means and a command is received therefrom. CONSTITUTION:An electric current detector 26 detects electric current, the indicator 26f thereof is rotated in an arrow direction corresponding to the electric current added, when the added elective current reaches a preset value, a short-circuit piece 26d and a contact 26e are intercommunicated via the indicator 26f for control electric current to be taken out from the contact 26e. When electric current supplied to the coil 10 of a thrust magnetic bearing reaches an allowable electric current value, an electric- powered servomotor 29 is driven by the electric current from the electric current detector 26 for an inlet guide vane 21 to be rotated in a closing direction. As a result, the suction quantity of refrigerant gas taken in a turbo compressor 1 is decreased so that thrust produced at a driving shaft 7 is decreased. In the case that electric current supplied to the coil 10 is less than the allowable electric current value, the electric current detector 26 generates no control electric current so that the inlet guide vane 21 is automatically returned to the normal angle thereof.
