    • PURPOSE:To provide the method and the apparatus, for measurement of the inside shape of an excavation hole, in which a high-accuracy measuring operation can be performed by a plurality of transducers which are driven by one ultrasonic oscillator. CONSTITUTION:A changeover device 12 composed of an electric-vibration input terminal, of a transducer output-signal sending-out terminal and of a switching circuit which selectively connects the input terminal and the sending-out terminal to a plurality of ultrasonic-wave transducers 9 is installed on an excavator 3 to which the individual receivers 9 have been attached. A transducer 4 which is coupled to an ultrasonic oscillator 7, a transducer output-signal processing circuit 8 and a changeover control circuit 11 is installed on the grounding surface, and the oscillator 7, the signal processing circuit 8 and the control circuit 11 are connected respectively to the input terminal, the sending-out terminal and the switching circuit for the changeover device 12 by means of elastic cables 22. The switching circuit is controlled by the control circuit 11, the transducers 9 are connected to the oscillator 7 and the signal processing circuit 8 one by one, and the distance between the outer face of the excavator and the inner face 10 of an excavation hole is measured.
