    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a corresponding α,β-unsaturated alcohol from an α,β-unsaturated aldehyde and a secondary alcohol through a reaction of hydrogen transfer from the secondary alcohol.SOLUTION: A method of producing an α,β-unsaturated alcohol uses zirconium oxide as a catalyst and comprises supplying a mixed gas containing an α,β-unsaturated aldehyde and an equivalent mole or more of a secondary alcohol continuously to produce a corresponding α,β-unsaturated alcohol with a high conversion rate and a high selectivity through a reaction of hydrogen transfer from the secondary alcohol. By the method, crotyl alcohol can be produced in a high yield, with isopropanol as a hydrogen source, from crotonaldehyde which is obtained by carrying out a dehydrogenation reaction of bioethanol to obtain an acetaldehyde and subjecting the acetaldehyde to aldol condensation.
