    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production method and a dehydrogenation reactor in which when hydrogen is produced by combination of dehydrogenation reaction of an organic halide or the like with a hydrogen separation membrane, the starting material for dehydrogenation reaction is easily mixed with hydrogen, so that deterioration of the performance of a dehydrogenation reaction catalyst can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The dehydrogenation reactor is a flow type reactor provided with a hydrogen separation membrane selectively pervious to hydrogen, and a dehydrogenation catalyst which accelerates dehydrogenation reaction of an organic compound releasable of hydrogen by dehydrogenation reaction, and having a reaction-side region containing the dehydrogenation catalyst in which the organic compound can flow, and a permeation-side region which is separated from the reaction-side region by the hydrogen separation membrane and in which hydrogen passing through the hydrogen separation membrane can flow, wherein the reactor includes a section B in which the hydrogen separation membrane is present and the dehydrogenation catalyst is not present, and a section A in which the hydrogen separation membrane and the dehydrogenation catalyst are present, in this order along the flow direction of the organic compound.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing hydrogen easily suppressing activity reduction of a dehydrogenation catalyst in production of hydrogen utilizing dehydrogenation reaction of an organic compound.SOLUTION: The apparatus 2A for producing hydrogen includes: a reaction vessel 4 in which an organic compound to release hydrogen in the presence of the dehydrogenation catalyst 6 is introduced; a flow type reactor 8 connected to the reaction vessel 4 and including the dehydrogenation catalyst 6; a product vessel 10 connected to the reactor 8 and positioned on a side opposite to the reaction vessel 4 sandwiching the reactor 8; a hydrogen vessel 12 adjacent to both reaction vessel 4 and product vessel 10; a first hydrogen separation membrane 20A separating a space in the hydrogen vessel 12 and a space in the product vessel 10; and a second hydrogen separation membrane 20B separating a space in the hydrogen vessel 12 and a space in the reaction vessel 4.
