    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure high sealing performance by allowing a biting ring to bite firmly between a joint body and a pipe.SOLUTION: A pipe joint 10 includes a joint body 20, a biting ring 24 and a tightening nut 22. The joint body 20 has a socket part. The biting ring 24 is inserted into the socket part of the joint body 20. When the biting ring 24 is subjected to a diameter-reduction action from the socket part, the ring bites an outer circumference of the pipe. The biting ring 24 has a body-side tapered part, a nut-side tapered part and an approaching part. The nut-side tapered part is subjected to a diameter-reduction action by the tightening nut 22. The approaching part is disposed at a top end of the nut-side tapered part. While the tightening nut 22 imparts propulsive force to the biting ring 24, the approaching part enters a clearance between the outer circumference surface of the pipe 12 and a pipe enclosing part of the tightening nut 22.
