SOLUTION: A joint mechanism container 16, a needle mechanism container 18, a feed mechanism container 17, and an upper looper mechanism container 21 are fixed on a sewing machine main frame. The joint mechanism container 16 is tightly sealed and the sliding parts of the joint mechanism fixed inside it are lubricated with a lubricant oil to establish oil lubrication. The sliding parts of at least one of the mechanisms contained in the needle mechanism container 18, the feed mechanism container 17, and the upper looper mechanism container 21 are lubricated with a lubricant grease to establish grease lubrication.

SOLUTION: The sewing machine parts have a substrate 13 formed to a prescribed shape and the contact surface 12 which is disposed in at least a portion of the surface of the substrate 13 and comes into contact with the other sewing machine parts 3. The substrate 13 is formed of iron and steel materials containing a chromium component in excess of 1.0 wt.%. The contact surface 12 is formed of a cured layer 14 disposed by subjecting the substrate 13 to nitriding treatment or composite treatment adding the nitriding treatment to tempering treatment.
