    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated from a pantagraph during the travel of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The joint 5a of the framework 5 of a Z-shaped pantagraph 1 is covered with an outer cover 17 and an inner cover 18. The outer cover 17 is formed so as to cover the joint 5a from the outside of the framework 5. The front edge 28 thereof extends along a straight line which extends vertically at the working height of the pantagraph 1 so that its horizontal cross section may be roughly semicircular. The width of the outer-cover 17 is roughly equal to that of an upper frame 9 or a lower frame 10, the rear edges 29a, 29b highlight a sawtooth formed with reference to a straight or curved differential continuous line as a base line so that an angle formed out of the upper frame 9 and the lower frame 10 may be an obtuse angle, and the rear edge of the outer cover by means of the straight or curved differential continuous line aerodynamically. It is thus possible to prevent generation of mutual interference between the eddies of air currents produced on the upper frame 9, the outer cover 17, and the lower frame 10 respectively while a vehicle is traveling in a drawing direction, thereby reducing aerodynamic noise.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disperse and reduce the microbarometric wave generated when a rolling stock rushes into a tunnel by providing the area changed in cross section in a plurality of positions along the longitudinal direction in a cross sectional area distribution extending from the top end of the body of a head rolling stock to the general section part (maximum cross sectional area part). SOLUTION: A body 11 has a substantially bullet-shaped streamline form in a plane view, and the upper surface of the body 11 is changed in two steps to separately provide two cross section changing areas. Namely, the top end part of the body 11 is raised upward in a curved form to form a cross sectional area changing area 2 of the first step, and the upper surface is extended backward substantially horizontally in a flat surface form, inclined up to the back, and raised near the longitudinal middle position of the body 11 to form a cross sectional area changing area 3 of the second step. According to this structure, the microbarometric wave generated in the rushing into a tunnel of a rolling stock can be dispersed and reduced in two steps, and the explosive sound in the tunnel outlet caused by the microbarometric wave can be effectively reduced.
