    • PURPOSE:To prevent snaking and to perform stable rolling at different winding speeds even if tension is low by detecting directly the snaking quantity of a rolled material and controlling right and left gaps so as to change the same until the difference is made zero. CONSTITUTION:When a rolled material 9 snakes, the quantity thereof is detected with a snaking detector 17, and is compared with a target value by an adding amplifier 20, by which the deviation signal for the snaking quantity is generated. The signal 22 is processed with an adjuster 21 for controlling the snaking, and the output from the adjuster 21 is applied as signals 23, 24 for correcting right and left rolling down to adding amplifiers 15, 16. The signals for displacing the distons of hydraulic cylinders 7, 8 and the signals for correcting the rolling down are compared in the amplifiers 15, 16, and servocontrol valves 11, 12 control the inflow and outflow rates of the pressure oil to the cylinders 7, 8 in accordance with the differential signal. As a result, the right and left roll gaps are changed, by which the progression of the snaking is prevented and the target value given by a storage circuit 18 is restored for the material 9.

    • PURPOSE: To stabilize rolling by preventing the meandering of a rolling material and to improve production efficiency and product yield by detecting directly the deviation quantity of the material at the inlet of a mill and adjusting rolling reductions at the left and right sides in accordance with the deviation quantity.
      CONSTITUTION: Roll gaps at the left and right sides are set by controlling the quantities of pressurized oil inflowing and outflowing to/from hydraulic cylinders 7, 8 with the aids of servovalves 11, 12. Further, the variations of roll gaps are measured by displacement detectors 13, 14 used for detecting the movements of pistons of the cylinders 7, 8; when the differences are observed by comparing the displacements with set signals with the aids of adding amplifiers 15, 16, the valves 11, 12 are controlled to correct the displacements basing on the differences. On the other hand, a meander detector 17 of a rolling material 9 is installed at the inlet of a mill 10 to compare a signal outputted from the detector 17 with an output of a target-value setting-circuit, constituted of a storage circuit 18 and a relay 19, with the aid of an adding amplifier 20. Then, a meandering-quantity deviation signal 22 obtained by said comparison is treated by a meander controlling-adjuster 21 to fetch the signal 22 as reduction correcting signals 23, 24 at both sides thereby adding them to the amplifiers 15, 16.

Thus, the material 1 can be passed through an optional position in its width direction, thereby its worn profile is optionally controlled.

The rolling loads of the right and left detected by detectors 25, 26 are then calculated by a calculator 27 and the signal of the differential load is multiplied by an adeqate constant with a counter 28 and outputted to servo valves 11, 12 as a command signal via adders 15, 16. The oil quantity passing the valves 11, 12 is then adjusted and the pistons of hydraulic cylinders 7, 8 are acted in the direction reducing the meandering quantity of the rolling material 9.
