In the bolt inserting step, a bolt (12) inside the male joint (4) is inserted into the female joint (5). In the fastening step, a worm wheel (13) arranged in the joint is rotated to screw the bolt (12) into a nut (22) in the female joint (5), to thereby fasten the male joint (4) to the female joint (5).

When the segment 1 is connected, a projection 12a of the male member 12 is fitted in the groove 11a, and it is slid in the direction of the tunnel axis. The female member 11 is engaged with the male member 12 to control the misalignment by resisting the shear force.
