    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jacking method for a tunnel for efficiently constructing the large bore tunnel under a railway track or a road when boring under the existing railway track or road in the traverse direction to obtain a grade separated crossing or road intersection.
      SOLUTION: A plurality of segment rings 4 are formed in a start shaft 13. The plurality of segment rings 4 are connected to one another, and prestress is introduced in the cross-sectional direction of each segment ring 4 and in the axial direction of the plurality of segment rings 4 to form case bodies 3A, 3B. Using jacks 18 installed in the start shaft 13, the case bodies 3A, 3B are sequentially joined and pushed into the ground under the track 1 to construct the tunnel 2 continuous in the traverse direction of the track 1.
