    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic bar supply machine realizing energy savings by omitting useless motions and capable of shortening the time required for feeding. SOLUTION: This automatic bar supply machine is used to feed bars to be worked forward to a bar working machine by primarily sending them along a guide rail by means of primary feed members and then secondarily sending them by means of a secondary feed member. The guide rail has a primary feed guide rail portion for primarily sending the bars by the primary feed members and also has a primary send transmission provided with a pair of bodies of rotation for the primary feed disposed in the longitudinal direction of the guide rail portion and a primary feed endless member wound on the bodies of rotation. The two primary feed members, leaving a substantially constant space between them, are mounted on the endless member. The machine is characterized in that the primary feed members make circulating motion, or they move forward for the primary feed in the guide rail portion in keeping with the running motion of the endless member, and after they get out of its front end, they enter the guide rail portion from the rear side.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic bar supply machine having a material shelf with a simple structure, capable of smoothly supplying bars to a guide rail, capable of reducing a noise problem, and capable of reducing load of a worker. SOLUTION: In this automatic bar supply machine, the bars are supplied one by one from the material shelf juxtaposed with the guide rail to the inside of the guide rail extending to a bar working machine and the bars are fed along the guide rail by a feed member. The material shelf has a shelf surface upwardly inclined toward the downstream side relative to the flowing direction of the bars flowing on the shelf surface toward the guide rail and has a push member for pushing the bars in parallel with the guide rail along the shelf surface. The machine is characterized in that the plurality of bars placed in a line on the shelf surface are pushed by the push member from the upstream side to cause the bar on the downstream end to be pushed out, thus supplying it to the inside of the guide rail.

SOLUTION: An automatic bar feeder 1 to feed a bar W to an automatic bar finishing machine comprises a moving guide 14 to receive a bar in an initial position; a bar feeding member 13 movably arranged in the moving guide; a member drive device 3 and a moving guide drive device to press and energize frontward the bar feeding member and the moving guide; a drive control device 5 to control forward movement of the bar feeding member; and a guide coupling device 6 to regulate relative movement between the bar feeding member and the moving guide. The moving guide and the bar feeding member are integrally advanced in such a state to contain the bar W in the moving guide at an initial feed process. The drive control device and a guide coupling device cause relative displacement between the bar feeding member and the moving guide, causes relative forward and backward movement of the bar feeding member to and from the moving guide, and causes integral backward movement of the bar feeding member and the moving guide to an initial position.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the manufacturing process and management of a finger chuck provided with an elastic holding member while clamping the rear end of a bar material and the finger chuck so that both can be smoothly separated from each other. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a finger chuck mounted to the front end of a bar material supply member, the outer periphery of the end of a bar material WC to be clamped by the finger chuck 10 is formed with a plurality of recesses 42. The bar material is inserted into a bar material inserting hole of the finger chuck to form a resin molding core WC in the bar material inserting hole. The recesses are disposed circumferentially of the bar material at a predetermined interval. Fluidized resin material is infused into a gap formed between the outer peripheral surface of the core WC and the inner wall surface of the bar material inserting hole, and an opening part of the bar material inserting hole is closed with a jig 30 provided with the bar material inserting hole through which the bar material can be inserted. The inner wall of the bar material inserting hole, the outer wall of the core and the opening part closing wall surface of the jig define the resin molding region in the bar material inserting hole.
