    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose and economical device capable of performing various types of machining of a long and narrow bar material without turning the bar around its axis at a short cycle time. SOLUTION: A bar material feeding device and a machining device can machine a bar material with deformed section by using a general-purpose two-spindle opposed lathe having two spindles opposed each other and two rotary tool turrets oppositely arranged with the axis of the spindles being between the turrets. The bar material feeding device 2 feeds the shape to the machining device 1 in its axial direction by fixing a phase of the bar material with deformed section. A V-shaped receiving member 41 for movably supporting the bar material in the axial direction is arranged on a pointed head of an arm 44 extending in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of a long and narrow vertically-moving base 45 prepared in the longitudinal direction of the bar material. The center of the cross-section of the bar material supported by a plurality of V-shaped receiving members 41 is positioned on the feeding axis by moving the vertically-moving base 45 vertically and horizontally, and the bar material is fed to the machining device 1 by pushing a rear end of the bar material with a pusher 51.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which surely detects whether a workpiece is cut without putting large restrictions on layout.
      SOLUTION: After cutting the workpiece W by a cutting-off tool 32 in the machine tool 1, a second spindle is rotated and driven at low speed in a state of rotating and driving being stopped in relation to a first spindle.
