    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manifold block for a fuel cell stack which eliminates the need of insulation coating and ensures excellent electric insulation properties for a coolant passage.SOLUTION: A manifold block for a fuel cell stack of this invention is coupled to a fuel cell stack module and has a gas passage and a coolant passage. The manifold block for the fuel cell stack includes a tubular insulation member which is inserted into the inner side of the coolant passage and is placed in close contact with an inner side surface of the coolant passage thereby electrically insulating the inner side surface of the coolant passage; and an insulation cover which is inserted into the inner side of the coolant passage and is placed in close contact with the insulation member thereby fixing and protecting the insulation member.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator for a fuel cell stack case capable of discharging high-temperature air in the fuel cell stack case into a flow of open air at a natural flow and stably maintaining a temperature of a stack and eliminating a problem of the leakage of condensed water and hydrogen.
      SOLUTION: The ventilator for the fuel cell stack case has a stack case for storing the stack inside, and an air cleaner arranged at the upstream side of the stack case and purifying the open air. In the ventilator for the fuel cell stack case, a connection hole for connecting the lower side of the air cleaner and the upper side of the stack case is formed, a pressure difference caused by an air flow of the air cleaner is generated between the air cleaner and the stack case, and the air in the stack case is made to flow into the air cleaner through the connection hole. It is preferable that the moisture and dust of the open air is prevented from flowing into the stack case.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve low temperature starting properties by shortening heating time when a process raising the temperature of a fuel cell is necessary, and prevent reduction of the life of a membrane electrode assembly caused by rising of open circuit voltage of the fuel cell generating when the electrical connection between the fuel cell and a load is cut in low output of the fuel cell.
      SOLUTION: A self discharge mode conducting self discharge by short-circuiting first current collecting plates having resistance is changed over to a normal mode outputting from a second current collecting plate having low resistance to a load. When the open air temperature is lower than low temperature starting application temperature, the fuel cell is heated by changing over to the self discharge mode, and when the temperature becomes higher than critical lower limit temperature, the mode is changed over to the normal mode. When the electrical connection between the fuel cell and the load is cut, if the voltage of a fuel cell stack is higher than critical upper limit voltage, the mode is changed over to the self discharge mode, and reduction of the life of the membrane electrode assembly caused by no-load output voltage is prevented.
